Hi…my name is Blackjack.

Those good old Sahuarita police officers came to the rescue again! I was “picked up for loitering” around Fry’s late on the Fourth of July last year and brought to TALGV for safe keeping. I am a strong, handsome, black terrier mix guy who has recently lived with a foster mom for a while to see how I do in a home environment. (It’s sometimes hard to tell what our individual personalities are like here at TALGV.) Well…I’m happy to report that she had nothing but good things to say about me. She said that I am an uncomplicated dog who is a homebody – I’d rather lie down by your feet than explore the yard. I’m housebroken (well, okay, I “marked” my territory at first, but after that my behavior was exemplary). I know the commands “sit, stay, come, down, leave-it, and off,” and she said I’ll be the star of any obedience class I attend. I’m a very good walker – I never pull on the leash or react to other dogs, rabbits, or birds (I’ve not seen a cat, so not too sure there!). She said I’m a great trail walker and would be terrific on hikes in Madera Canyon. I’m a super watchdog – I bark, but don’t show any aggression. Since I’m a big guy, I do play rough with other dogs, so maybe a crowded dog park isn’t the best place for me.  Well this is getting kind of long, so I’ll sign off with just one plea – come in, read all about me, and get to know me – you’ll fall in love just like my foster mom did!
