Hi…my name is Butters.
I’m a 7-month-old, German shorthair pointer mix who was rescued along with my mom and six of my siblings in Madera Canyon when we were just wee babies. The wonderful people who found us kept and nurtured all of us until we got just too big to keep. Because of all the socialization I got in my early days, I am a very people-friendly guy who is loving, wants lots of attention, and, truth be told, just want to be a “lap dog” (despite my size!). I’m a mostly white male with tan eye patches and freckles. I can be dominant with other dogs, but submit to pack leadership. I’ve had basic puppy obedience training, and I know “sit, stay, down,” and a little bit of “heel,” but I’m still a puppy so I have LOTS of those rambunctious high spirits and energy! They say I need a strong leader to show me who’s boss, so if you can spend some time training me, I know that I’ve got the smarts and the will to learn because I do so want to have a family that will be proud to have me be integral part of it.
