Hi…my name is Freeway.

Forget everything you ever thought about “pit bulls” and come spend some time with me! I’ve been living with my rescuer (who found me…guess where?… on the freeway!) for three of my 3½ years, and he says I am the sweetest, most laid back dog he’s ever had. We also had a resident (also rescued) cat, and we played and cuddled and got along like long lost buddies. My dad had to move to Phoenix for his job and couldn’t take me (or my feline friend) with him, so he’s really hoping that folks will see past the image some people have of my breed and see the sweet, shining personality behind the face. I am a spayed, mostly white girl with dark brown patches, who is microchipped and current with all my shots. I’m housetrained (as long as you don’t leave me TOO long by myself!), and love to fetch, chew rawhides, and play with cats (of course, the dog-savvy kind are best!). It would be great to find a family who likes to go for long walks (or even hikes in Madera Canyon!) with whom I can share my love of the outdoors, so if you need a companion during your daily exercise routine (or just with your life!), then I’d simply LOVE to keep you company!
