Hi… my name is Harley,

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

My foster mom says I’m a great dog and a great house guest, and I say that’s because I love being around people. I’m good on a leash, although I do need someone strong on the other end. And if you like to jog, I’ll run by your side. Granted, I do not enjoy the company of other dogs, but I try hard to please my human friends. I know several commands, will ask to go out when need be and will gladly play a game of fetch or just relax and sunbathe. I get a little anxious when left alone, so when you return, I’ll give you a very happy welcome!  Another positive: I come with Vet Care Support for Life! All I need now is someone like you and a happy forever home.  (1/24)

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Grace (akaFrankie),

I was just a 1-year-old youngster when I was adopted from TALGV six years ago. Then my “dad” passed away. His family, even though they tried, couldn’t keep me. Now I’m hoping to find a new “forever” home. I’ve been gentle and tolerant around children ranging in ages from 2 to 14. I’m leash and house trained, know how to “sit” and “lay,” can use a doggie door, and ask to “go potty.” I’ve already enjoyed visiting the TALGV play yard, but have yet to be introduced to a neighbor who can meet me for a playdate. I enjoy my daily walks. They’re helping me regain my girlish figure, plus I get to spend time with the volunteers.  What girl doesn’t like attention? Now it’s my turn to get YOUR attention. Please take me home!!

Hi… my name is Miki,

Adopted 12-21-19

I was only two months old when I was found by a man who had a family of three children. I was with them for five months. I’m happy to report they said I was “a love dog.” I was crate-trained and leash-trained, and learned the Spanish words for “sit” and “lay down.” I’m smart, so I can learn English as well as Spanish. My Dad started working long hours, and all the children were in school most of the day. So, they brought me here, knowing it was too lonely for me in an empty house. Being a young Heeler/Pointer, I have lots of energy. I’ll be happy in a home where I can learn and play, be part of a family, and once again be “a love dog,” this time for you.

Hi…my name is Chance,

Adopted 1-2-20

By any chance would you be looking for a dog who’s young, full of life, and a people-lover? Then I’m looking for you, too. My Dad passed away, and I spent the summer with a nice lady and her 2 elderly dogs. They didn’t like a pup who wanted to play with them, so I came here to find a new home. I look like a Pointer with the face of a happy Heeler. I like to run, play with toys and go for car rides. Sometimes I get “the zoomies,” where I run really fast, then come to a dead halt, and do it again. On day one at TALGV, I admit I was sad. But the next day I had lots of visitors calling me “handsome, sweet, and smart.” I’ll be all that and more if you take a chance on me.

Hi… my name is Patches,

Adopted 7-13-19

Black/White spotted pointer, who can “point” you in the right direction. If you are looking for energy, youth, and friendliness, look no further. All signs “point” to me. I am not only eye-catching, but a great greeter. I welcome you with open paws and bright smiling teeth. I was found in a Green Valley neighborhood so you could say I’m from “the hood,” but don’t let my boyish black/white spotted exterior fool you. With much still left to learn, I hope to make growing with you an amazing experience. One you will never forget since my good looks caught you. If one meeting makes you love me, imagine what many years can bring. Not just for you, but also for me. With my youth I get to learn and live; I hope it’s with you.

Hi… my name is Rukus,

Adopted 2-3-18

Rukus has earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

If you love dogs (and I’m guessing you do), you understand the heartache of being what’s called an “unwanted” dog. It wasn’t about me, really—my person loved me. She got me as a puppy, said I grew up to be “wonderful,” and even liked my kisses. But she couldn’t take me with her when she moved to Phoenix; her family here wouldn’t take me, and her landlord wanted me gone yesterday. So I was living outside, experiencing long and lonely days, when suddenly, I came here. What a difference! Now I’m in out of the weather, have great company, walk with people every day, and I am wanted here; they call me “a sweetheart.” I’m a 7-year-old female, 44 pounds, and oh- so-ready to love you forever if you take me home.

Hi… my name is David,

Adopted 1-21-18

I was found near Green Valley Hospital, but the kind of care I needed wasn’t medical. Turned out, I’d been given away when my person moved out of state and then not kept. But you know what? I’m only 1 year old, so a disappointing beginning is only that—my happy story can start now. Granted, for you, choosing a dog can get complicated if you’re considering size, gender, age, even coat and color. For me, though, it’s simple—I just want a kind someone who appreciates my good qualities and will let me love them forever. I’m a Pointer/Staffie mix male, distinctive looking with my friendly face, and my black and white speckled coat, and I’d love to meet you, because I think once together, we’ll want to share all our happy tomorrows.

Hi… my name is Oliver,

Adopted 3-20-17

On a cold and rainy day, my finders discovered me at their front door. Although they couldn’t keep me—they already have 2 dogs and 6 cats—we became acquainted and, wow, did they have good things to say about me! “Very adaptable, quick learner, affectionate, loves humans, fine with cats and dogs (actually somewhat intimidated by cats), wants to play and run.” Asked what a potential adopter should know, they said that I “will be a wonderful companion, especially for an active person/family.” And you know what? The caregivers here feel exactly the same way! They add that I’m shy, very sweet, and handsome—a black and white 1-year-old male—and I’m grateful for all those kind words. Best of all, I believe someone wonderful will soon say to me: Let’s go home!

Hi… my name is Cammie,

Adopted July 3, 2016

I’ve experienced some tough changes in my young life, but now my future looks bright! Previously, when living with a homeless person, I was struck by a car, crushing a back leg, which had to be amputated. Today, I’m well and looking for a new home! I enjoy taking long walks on my three legs, and foster mom says I’m really sweet and just want to please. I don’t chew up stuff, am totally house trained, know lots of doggie commands, and not scared by noise or lightening. Because I love people and other dogs, she thinks I’ll fit in nicely with a happy family or someone active looking for a great companion. I’m a beautiful chocolate and white 2-year-old Pointer female, and if you believe in happy endings, I’m the dog for you!
