Hi… my name is Mama,

I’m not just any black cat—I have a distinctive smoky silver undercoat that shines through the black on top. It looks quite elegant, along with my startling yellow-green eyes. Photogenic I am! I came here as a stray so I don’t know details about my earlier life, but I must have been treated okay because I’m a real people-cat. I will jump right into your lap; I like petting and you can pick me up. I like playing with string toys. I do need brushing to keep my coat looking its best. I’m only two years old so I have lots of time to shower you with affection. Shall we get started right away?

Hi… my name is Victory,

Adopted with Wheelie and Dax 8-17-22

Can you say knockout?  Along with traditional white patches on my neck and feet, I have a black coat with faint darker stripes and a white undercoat that makes it shimmer like silver. I first came to the Animal League after giving birth to kittens years ago, and was adopted along with Tiki.  Now we are here again because our owner can’t care for us any longer.  I’m pretty outgoing and vocal.  Nix on brushing and being picked up, but I like petting and playing and will snuggle you. A scratching post/pad is a must for me. Won’t you come see how beautiful I am, inside and out?  We can be pals for many years.

Hi… my name is Polar,

Adopted 2-28-22

I was found as a kitten in the desert in November 2019 and didn’t have a lot of human “hands on” time so was justifiably wary of people. Even though I’ve been here almost two years, I’m still shy, but with a little patience, once you entice me out, you’ll find I enjoy being petted, have an endearing habit of rolling on my back for attention, like giving little kisses/nips, love playing with string toys, and getting treats. In my heart I know that a home of my own will be just the thing to bring out the love in me, so if you’re looking for a venture with a big payoff, that’d be ME!

Hi… my name is Gummie Bear,

Adopted 10-18-19

If you’re looking for a lovable and charming kitten, but aren’t quite ready for a hyperactive young’un, well look my way! My mom adopted my brother, Heath, and me when we were just wee critters and we provided her with lots of excitement (maybe a smidge too much!), but when her health necessitated a move out of state for treatment, she had to return us. I’m an extraordinarily lovely girl with unusual sleek, smoke-colored fur, which matches perfectly with my extraordinarily gentle and loving nature. As a teenager I still love playing with toys , so I’ll bet your whole world would be ever so much happier with me in it!

Hi… my name is Kalypso,

Adopted 5-26-19

You’ve heard people say, “Your pictures don’t do you justice,” well everyone agrees with that in my case ‘cause you can’t begin to appreciate my unique coloring (and personality!) until you meet me in person! My outer markings are smoke tabby, but when you brush my fur back you’ll see a creamy Siamese-colored undercoat that’s just amazing! But wait, there’s more! If you’re “into” head butts, I win first prize in that competition, too! I REALLY love being petted and will let you know in no uncertain terms that I’m ready (and that’s pretty much always!). My overseas-military dad would be ecstatic to know that I have a new loving home – so maybe with you?

Hi… my name is Licorice,

Adopted with Fuzzy 12-8-18

Are you into something different? Well, I just might have exactly what you’re looking for! You’ve got to come see (and pet) me to really appreciate my awesome black smoke coat (my “underpinnings” have a silvery sheen that lends my black outer coat an absolutely otherworldly aura!). And that doesn’t even take my sweet, purr-filled personality into consideration! My four babies and I were rescued from a shelter that was closing, and happily TALGV had space for us at the time, so we’re here looking for our own forever places in the Arizona sun. I’ve got lots of stories to tell about my long journey here, so why not let me share them with YOU!

Hi… my name is Phinnie,

Adopted 5-9-18

If you’re the kind of person who likes a little “white noise” when you go to sleep, well, let me tell you about my purr! Just pick me up and let me snuggle into your neck, and you’ll get a nice little massage along with the “music!” The performance is just to let you know that I’m SO happy to have been rescued and is giving you a hint of things to come when you take me home! I was found “hungry and very friendly” in a Sahuarita neighborhood, and although the good neighbors fed me, they knew outdoors was not the place for me to be. I’m only about 8 months old and have a rare “smoke” coat (black with a silver underlay), so with personality to spare, what more could you want?
