Animal League News

Hi… my name is Spice,

I was found with another dog, both of us scared and hungry, outside a local library. Fortunately, our finder was patient and gently encouraging.  When she offered food, we overcame our fears and let her bring us safely to TALGV. Here, I’ve made more new friends and really appreciate their kind words and affection. They report I walk well on a leash and appear to be housetrained (I “go” on our walks). As a young adult dog, I still have some lessons to learn, and I’m often shy around strangers, but thanks to my fondness for food, treats almost always help! I’m a female Pug mix, small but solid, with a soft tan coat and sparkling brown eyes. I hope you’ll come visit soon because I think my next best friend could be you!

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Sugar,

If I’m a little shy when we first meet, I hope you’ll understand. Once upon a time I was lost and had to be very careful. But here at TALGV, I’m growing more comfortable every day. My TALGV friends tell me I’m adorable and that helps. As a young adult I continue to learn but already know some important things. For instance, I appear to be housetrained as I “go” on my walks here, I’ve been good on a leash and understand the word “stay.” And here’s a secret:  I’m what they call food motivated. In other words, treats often hold my interest and make me happy.  I’m a female Pug mix with a tan coat and sparkling brown eyes who’d really like to meet you. Maybe you and I could share many happy times together.

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Max

Adopted 4-8-24

MAX is a friendly, sweet, and obedient 10-year-old, 36-pound, Whippet male that needs a new home. His female companion Whippet died last Fall and his senior owners died recently. He is great on a leash, is house trained (asks to go out), and likes to use a doggy door. He is neutered, in good health, and up to date on shots. He has gotten along with children over age 9 and female dogs, but he really dislikes cats. The ideal home for Max would be with another whippet, a yard, and a doggy door. He is a loving and loyal companion that needs someone who is mostly at home. There is no adoption fee. If you will welcome Max into a loving home as part of your family, please call Barbara between 8 AM and 6 PM at 520-326-2170.

Hi… my name is Teana,

FOUND – PLEASE CALL TALGV OFFICE FOR INFORMATION

Guess what the best thing is about big dogs? Their BIG hearts!  I’m no exception. There’s nothing small about me. My heart, love for people, joyful wiggles, and smile are all oversized. I was found wandering in a nearby neighborhood by a kind person who could not keep me (darn landlord) and that’s how I ended up at TALGV. I’d love to find my forever home with a safe backyard to play in, regular exercise, and a comfy couch to cuddle with my family. I’m athletic and strong; therefore, I may accidentally topple over little kids. The volunteers are helping me refine my leash manners. With an IQ matching my looks, I’m sure to ace any training. Cat-free households, you’re in luck – I may be the perfect fit!

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Cassie,

Adopted 4-6-24

Life can be lots of fun when you’re an Australian Cattle Dog like me!  Blessed with boundless energy, I’m a smart and loyal dog, who finds my people easy to love. I can run like the wind and enjoy lots of lively play, but my favorite thing is being with someone who loves me back, whether we’re going for long walks, playing ball or frisbee, or I’m curling up at your feet.  I will ask to go outside, have learned to sit, stay, and fetch (especially with treats), and have been crate trained.  My TALGV friends say I’m an exceptionally sweet dog, but I do not get along with cats. You can also call me a Blue Heeler—an especially beautiful Blue my friends say—but my biggest hope is that you’ll call me yours.

Hi… my name is Luca,

Before he passed, my dad asked his caregivers to find new homes for my friend Gorda and me. After a couple of weeks we were brought to TALGV to find our new forever homes. Like Gorda, I was also afraid and confused, but we had each other for support while adjusting to the changes. I’m cautious, but I warm up quickly. Then you’ll find out what a loving, friendly boy I can be. I enjoy going for walks and really love getting belly rubs. There’s nothing I enjoy more than being lavished with all the attention I can get. If you’re looking for an exceptional roommate to be your faithful companion for life, look no further, I’m right in front of you!

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Adopted with Ebby 2-25-24

COCOA is a friendly and sweet six-year-old, 6-pound Chihuahua female who needs a new home. She is crate trained and house trained (asks to go out). She is spayed, microchipped, shots are up to date, in good health, and obeys direction. Cocoa is good with her companion, Ebby, but other dogs, cats, and children may be unknown. She likes snuggling in your lap, playing with her toys, and sleeps in her crate. She may never have been separated from her sister but would probably be okay as an only pet. There is no adoption fee. If you will welcome Cocoa into a loving home as part of your family, please call Richard after 9 a.m. at 208-691-3531.
