Boo

Hi… my name is Boo,

Adopted December 31, 2015

When my sister and I arrived at TALGV because we had to leave our owner, we were both pretty bashful.   She found her forever home quickly, I’m glad to say, and now I’m alone, still bashful but becoming more comfortable with my TALGV friends every day. I’m 9 months old, medium size, tan and white, with unforgettable blue eyes. People say eyes are the windows to the soul, so please look in mine and see that I’m gentle, easy going, with lots of love to give to the person who’ll lets me be their devoted, loyal companion. Oh yes, playful, too; I especially love playing in water. Plus, as an intelligent Aussie, I know “sit” and can learn lots more, and you can change me from bashful to happy just by making me yours.

Hi… my name is Rocket,

Adopted September 6, 2014

Howdy, mate! I am an Aussie mix—Australian Shepherd, that is—but I’m not from the land down under. Can’t say exactly where I’m from; my finders said I just showed up at their house one morning and never left. They were ever so nice, and although they couldn’t keep me, they said lots of good things about me. Loving, gentle, and loyal were words they used to describe me. I got along just fine with their animals and with the two children (ages 5 and 11). Just a “good dog,” they said. Well, I try to be a good friend so I can have good friends! I’m 1 year old, brindle and white, and 51 pounds. Please come for a visit and let show you what a great mate I can be.

Hi… my name is Finley.

Adopted September 24, 2015

Finley has earned/received his American Kennel Club (AKC)  Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification.

“Too many pets, too little time.” That’s what my people said when they finally had to relinquish me after a year. Although they said I was a wonderful guy who is very affectionate and loves attention, with four kids ranging from 14 down to 1 year, and two other dogs, there just wasn’t enough time in the day for a big (60 pound) fellow like me. And at only a year old, I still need a bit more coaching in the obedience department to keep my mind sharp, so its time for me to move on to a more “me-centered” place! I’m striking 1-year-old Aussie/Great Dane mix with unique harlequin and merle coloring, and since I’m kinda nervous during thunderstorms, I’d sure love to have a family (without cats!) to comfort me right now!

Hi… my name is Heather.

Adopted June 26, 2015

Being a stray, no one knows what I might have been called before I arrived at TALGV, but if I do say so myself, I think they picked a perfect name for me! I’m a lovely heathery-colored blue heeler/Aussie mix girl and just as sweet as heather honey! The summer interns who’ve been playing with me say I already know how to fetch and retrieve, and will likely make a great agility dog (heeler/Aussie — what a brainy combo!). I’m cool as a cucumber around other dogs (not an easy feat in this weather!) even when they’re doing their “bark at everyone” thing, so I’m sure I’ll be a “hail fellow well met” kind of girl. I’m about 3 months old and just itching to show you what I can do!

Hi… my name is Annie.

Adopted June 6, 2015

“Loves chewing on bones and toys, great with other animals (including cats) and kids, doggie door trained, and loves car rides.” For a 4-month-old little girl, that’s pretty high praise! In addition to that, I have the softest coat in the world, and am “almost there” in the housebreaking department. My folks only had me for three months, but being working folk, just didn’t have enough time for my education, so their loss is, as they say, going to be your gain! I’m a delightful Soft-coated Wheaten terrier and Aussie mix girl whose every waking hour is spent conjuring what kind of life we’re going to live together!

Hi… my name is Sara.

Adopted March 6, 2015

“She’s extremely friendly and ridiculously cute! She is very well behaved, seeks to be petted, and responds well to instruction.” That’s what my mom’s son said about me when he very sadly had to bring me to TALGV. Mom passed away a while ago, and the family couldn’t keep me, but since I’m such a sweetie, they just knew that it wouldn’t be hard for me to convince another family that I should be an integral part of their lives! I’m a happy, gentle, 7-year-old, Australian shepherd mix lady who has lived with another dog, know basic commands, and will undoubtedly be the light of your life. If you’ve ever owned (or been owned by!) an Aussie, you’ll know what you’re in for — total head-over-heels adoration!
