These days, I’ve traded the spotlight for a cozy foster home, but I haven’t lost an ounce of my star power. I’m a low-ridin’ Basset Hound Dog mix with a calm, easygoing presence and a heart full of Burning Love. I take life in stride and get along with dogs, cats, kids, and even reptiles. Nothing rattles a true legend. I’ve got my manners down too: house-trained, crate-trained, and always ready to be the perfect gentleman. Before he passed, my dad asked his caregivers to find homes for my friend Luca and me. After a couple of weeks, and having no luck, we were brought to TALGV to help us find our new forever homes. Upon arrival I was scared and confused, but with Luca’s presence and support, I soon adjusted to my new situation. I may take a little time to trust, but once I do, I’ll show you my sweet, affectionate side, and if a lap is made available, I’ll happily sit on it and offer you kisses. I enjoy my daily exercise and walk well on a leash. Now, could I tempt you into taking an outstanding, loving companion home with you? Throw in a large helping of love and I’m yours…forever!

My sister, Spice, and I were (let’s face it) “abandoned” at a nice lady’s house. She brought both of us to TALGV so we could find a good home. I have to admit that I’m a hefty 19-pound female Bassett Hound mix, approximately 4 months old. I’m just the right age to start some obedience training. Even though my sister and I resemble each other, you can easily tell us apart since I look like sugar topped with spice and she looks like a mixed blend of spices. People often describe us as unusual, adorable, and so much more. Please take another look at me and if you would like to sweeten your life, but you don’t want the added calories consider a little SUGAR like me.

My sister, Sugar, and I were “dropped off” at a wonderful lady’s house, and by bringing us to TALGV she knew we would be cared for. I’m a sturdy 16 ½ pound female Bassett Hound mix, approximately 4 months old. I’m just the right age to start my obedience training. You can tell my sister and I are related even though our appearance is different. Just by looking at the two of us, you will recognize me since I’m a rich blend of spices and she resembles sugar with a sprinkle of spice on top. I have heard people say we are beautiful, cute, adorable, and even more. Please take a good look, and if you are interested in adding a little SPICE to your life, you might want to consider adding me.

Once I find my place in the world, I’m going to stretch my little legs, snuggle in, and be happy forever! My past is unclear—I was “dropped off,” and that’s about all we know. But that was yesterday. Today, I’m doing my little guy best to find the person who needs me. I think of it that way because I’ll be giving my family lots of love and smiles. Sometimes people enjoy just watching me run around, probably because of my Bassett-like shape, which does look awfully cute on a walk (and I’m good on the leash). One thing for sure: I’m a champion cuddler. I can position my 35-pound body right next to you and will gladly roll over for belly rubs. How about we find each other—the sooner, the better!
