Rocco is a sweet and soft-natured 10-year-old, 75-pound Catahoula/Hound mix male who needs a new home.He is crate trained, has good leash manners, and is obedience trained (knows “sit, ”stay,” “come,” “touch” and “shake”). He is housebroken and asks to go out. He is in good health, neutered, up to date on shots, and medical records are available. Rocco gets along with other dogs and would be best with older children; cats are unknown. He loves his soft ortho bed and only needs a short daily walk. He would be a great companion for a low-key senior. There is no adoption fee for this special boy. Merlin

Hi… my name is Merlin,

I am a medium-sized, young dog with a beautiful mahogany coat who is just coming into his own. My Labrador heritage gives me a laid back attitude whereas the Catahoula part of me is wary of unfamiliar people. When we first meet, I will hang back and check you out for a while until we become acquainted and, possibly, even best friends. The trainers here say that I am a smart fellow who learns quickly and that I respond well to corrections when walking on a leash. I tend to stay pretty calm even when the other dogs here run around barking excitedly. If you are an active person (or family!) with some patience to continue my training, let’s meet and see if we were meant to be best friends!

Wouldn’t you love to meet an active and lively 10-year-old bundle of wagging tail and loving kisses? The thing you will really notice about me, after my wagging tail and brindle coat, is my bright blue eye and then the brown one. Its so pretty people stare at me and make me uncomfortable. I’d prefer your love so I can give you my undivided attention, show you my basic commands, and wag my tail at about 90 mph. Get a little closer and I will shower you with kisses. My handlers say I am awesome, sweet, loving, and very responsive. I really like it here, but a special human of my own would be even better. Did I mention I come with Vet Care for Life?
