Hi… my name is Chico,

Adopted April 1, 2016

One evening, shortly before sunset, my friend Chiquita and I were left in a small wire crate outside TALGV—a terrifying and nearly defenseless position for two little dogs. Who knows what might have happened overnight, but, fortunately, someone spotted us in time and took us inside. As you might guess, we were each leery of people at first, but turns out that here they’re offering only good things, like food, a soft bed, and gentle affection. They take me for walks and I’m learning that together we can relax, play, and enjoy each other’s company. I’m a tan, stocky, full-of-life 8-1/2-year-old Chihuahua mix male, a little guy with big hopes of being welcomed into your heart and home today. I’m so ready to give you a lifetime of your very own Chihuahua love!

Hi… my name is Starlight,

Adopted March 30, 2016

There’s no nice way to say this: My brothers and sisters and I were dumped. We were left out in the cold and filth with only each other for comfort, lucky to get food from a kind stranger. I don’t want to even think about what might have happened if TALGV hadn’t come to our rescue. Thankfully, the vet who examined us said we’re remarkably healthy. Also, the volunteers think I probably had some okay human interaction before being abandoned because I’m comfortable with people and love to cuddle. I’m a little 5-year-old Chihuahua mix female, cream-colored and sweet-natured. Imagine how grateful I’ll be for a comfy, carefree home with someone who’ll love and care for me forever. I’ll be the best little companion you could want! Won’t you take me home today?

Hi… my name is Kenny,

Adopted March 9, 2016

Chihuahuas are the smallest breed and at 4.4 pounds, I’m a very little Chihuahua. And even though little dogs often think they’re big, I felt extra tiny when I was lost in a field behind a busy store. The world was big and scary from there, but in one very lucky moment, a kind person rescued me and brought me to TALGV. I’m safe and cared for here, and gradually I’m learning to trust again. The other dogs in The Den, the room at TALGV for little dogs, also make me feel more confident and sometimes we go on walks together. I’m a white male Chihuahua, very young at about 5 months, and realizing that the big life ahead of me is soon going to be much better—the day you make me yours!

Hi… my name is Spike,

Adopted with Zero 1-9-18

Oh my, it’s happened again! Two years ago, my brother, Zero, and I could not move with our people because their new landlord did not allow dogs. Now, our person who adopted us back then is moving out of state and cannot take us with her. Zero and I just look at each other and say, “I’m so glad there’s you!” We’re Wirehaired Terrier/Chihuahua mixes, and we’re two little love bugs; we love each other and we also love our people. Cuddling on your lap is my favorite pastime. We’ve lived with a single person, and with a family with children, so we’ll fit in almost any home. We hope to stay together as we love romping with each other, so please double your fun and double your love by taking us home today!

My brother Spike and I are going to make our new owner very happy for a long time! Two years ago, we couldn’t move with our people because their new landlord didn’t allow dogs. Our person who adopted us back then is now moving out of state and cannot take us with her. Thankfully, Spike and I have always had each other. We’re Wirehaired Terrier/Chihuahua mixes, two little love bugs who love each other and our people. Indeed, cuddling with my person is my favorite pastime! Hi… my name is Rosa,

Adopted February 20, 2016

You can imagine how big, loud, and scary the world seems when you’re tiny like me and lost in traffic! I didn’t know where to turn for help, but, luckily, a good gentleman saw me and brought me to TALGV. Even here, I was afraid, and huddled in my blanket for days. The volunteers waited patiently, making sure I was okay while giving me time to feel safe. After a week, with their encouragement, I enjoyed an afternoon exploring The Den, TALGV’s room for little dogs like me. Now, I’ve played with other dogs and even started welcoming petting from the volunteers, which feels oh so wonderful! I’m a very special Chihuahua mix female, and if you’re special, too—someone with gentle, abiding love to give—I’d be ever so grateful to be yours.

I come with FREE Vet Care for Life!

Who’d have thought I’d be on the streets at this age? But there I was—dodging cars on the road less than a mile from TALGV. Thank goodness for my finder! At 6 years old and just 15 pounds, if I’m going to start a new adventure, I want safer surroundings and at least one partner with me. And what a great partner I’ll be—a little Chihuahua who expects only the basics: food, shelter, and, oh yeah, lots of love.  And what comes from my heart? Well, you can imagine how grateful I’ll be to go from dodging traffic to being in your loving home. Take me home today and you’ll be the best thing that could ever happen to me!

Hi… my name is Mimi,

Adopted February 7, 2016

I’m a three-legged dog and for me that’s a good thing! My other leg had multiple fractures, so I’m better off without it. Yes, I’ve been through tough times, but the great news is that I did make it through! When I lift my little chin now, I see people smiling down at me, seeing all my good qualities and letting me know I’m safe and with friends. Even so, I’m still shy and I am very afraid of cats, but with gentle people I get to know, I’m a sweetie who just loves to cuddle!   Imagine how grateful I’ll be for a calm and comfy home with someone who’ll love and care for me forever. I’ll be the best little companion you could want! Won’t you please take me home with you today?
