DHARMA is a friendly and sweet six-year-old, 30-pound Chiweenie female who needs a new home.She is crate trained, leash trained, and house trained (asks to go out). She is spayed, in good health, and obeys direction. Dharma is good with small children but, except for her brother Duke, other dogs and cats are unknown. She likes playing with her toys and sleeps in her own bed. She has never been separated from her brother but would probably be okay as an only pet. There is no adoption fee. I’m a Dachshund/Chihuahua mix with quite a bit of energy. I love long walks and my absolute favorite thing is playing ball! I’m quite affectionate and I like to be near my people as much as possible, although I can be a bit shy around some men. But I really like one of the guys who volunteers here and gives the best ear scratches you can imagine! The lady who found me said I was okay with her cat, too. I also love car rides and have been okay with being left by myself. (Just make sure you come back soon so I can greet you at the door!) Sometimes the Chihuahua personality in me takes over and I show you some spunk and personality! And—my adoption is free to qualified adopter!

In the Christmas movie, It’s a Wonderful Life, the little girl Susie tells us when a bell rings, an angel gets her wings. I didn’t hear any bells when I was born, but I have a pair of creamy angel wings imprinted on my tawny back! Another angel found me wandering in Madera Highlands and brought me here. I’m in fine shape, so I mustn’t have been lost very long. Volunteers say I’m friendly with children as well as adults and am good with other dogs. I look like a mix of Chihuahua and Dachshund and am about a year old. I enjoy my toys and taking walks. If you’d like a guardian angel in canine form, come adopt me and let’s have a wonderful life!
