Hi… my name is Dixon,

Adopted 8-18-23

When I was adopted from TALGV about a year ago, I was an adorable puppy. I may have been big for my age but who could guess how much I’d grow in the months to come. Certainly not my adoptive parents! So here I am, a handsome, 1 ½-year-old, 94 lb. Great Dane/Boxer mix, who’s looking for a home. I know how to “sit” and ask to go out. Since I’m a high energy boy, I’ll need someone strong enough to teach me proper leash walking skills, all the basic commands, and good manners (since I’ve been told I should never jump up on people…no matter how lovable I am). I know that once we’ve completed my education, I’ll be a perfect gentleman who’ll make you proud! The adventure begins…are you ready?

Hi… my name is Sadie,

Adopted 6-2-24

I’m a delightful blend of Greyhound and Great Dane wrapped into one gentle, intelligent girl… ME! I’m affectionate and love to cuddle. I walk well on a leash, know several commands and am willing to learn new things. I’ve gotten along with other dogs and children, and I’m good when left alone (in the house). Being a natural runner I should never be off-leash in unsecured areas. I’ll chase any small animals, like bunnies, cats etc., so NO small pets in the home please! In the past, when I’ve been bored, I’ve left home to visit neighbors or just to explore, so don’t leave me outside alone! If you can supply this wannabe couch potato with mental stimulation, take me on regular walks, and love me unconditionally, I’ll be yours forever!

Hi… my name is Aldo (aka Curtis),

Adopted 4-24-23

I was rescued from the mountains as a young pup and brought to TALGV where I was adopted a short time later. That was a little over two years, now I’m all grown up. Boy! Have I grown up! As a 100 pound, approximately 3-year-old Great Dane mix, I’m hard to ignore. Not that you’d ever want to because I’m a very friendly, affectionate lad who loves to meet people. I also  get along well with other dogs. Just ask my roommate!  Except for an occasional tug (easily corrected), I walk well on leash. I can use a doggy door and behave when left at home alone. I enjoy a game of keep-away, but please keep me away from fireworks. If love could be measured by weight, imagine the abundance I could share with you.

Hi… my name is Sasha Lee,

Adopted July 14, 2016

I’m a Great Dane mix, but not a giant. At 75 pounds, dog people call me “large” (I hope you like that size), and you’d think I’d be hard to lose, but that’s what happened. Fortunately, I was found by a very nice family with 6 dogs and kids ages 7-16. We all got along, but space was understandably an issue. They left me at TALGV with lots of nice words, saying I was “very sweet, loving, caring, snuggles; a very good dog who deserves a good home.” Isn’t that nice? Truth is, although a little shy, I love almost everyone. Guess that comes from my great big heart, and if you say that’s charming, well, I won’t disagree. And if you say “come home,” well, you’ll make me the happiest big dog ever!

Hi… my name is Finley.

Adopted September 24, 2015

Finley has earned/received his American Kennel Club (AKC)  Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification.

“Too many pets, too little time.” That’s what my people said when they finally had to relinquish me after a year. Although they said I was a wonderful guy who is very affectionate and loves attention, with four kids ranging from 14 down to 1 year, and two other dogs, there just wasn’t enough time in the day for a big (60 pound) fellow like me. And at only a year old, I still need a bit more coaching in the obedience department to keep my mind sharp, so its time for me to move on to a more “me-centered” place! I’m striking 1-year-old Aussie/Great Dane mix with unique harlequin and merle coloring, and since I’m kinda nervous during thunderstorms, I’d sure love to have a family (without cats!) to comfort me right now!

Hi… my name is Lily.

The people who found me in the desert already had a mastiff, a cattle dog, a pointer, a Shar-Pei, and a Lab — so no surprise that they couldn’t keep me, too! They lived in Patagonia — and their place had lots of room to roam — but adding another dog to the mix of five (pretty big ones!) would have been an awful lot to ask! They did keep me for two weeks though, and said that I was good with all the other dogs, have a very sweet temperament, am a good swimmer, love to play outside, and am a big, smart, obedient girl. I’m a striking, brindle-colored greyhound and Great Dane mix and will be a wonderful addition to any family. I’d love have another canine buddy to romp with (they said I NEED to play!), but if it’s just you and me, that would probably work for me, too!
