Hi… my name is Bowie,

Adopted 8-17-20

Sometimes I’m shy at first. That usually lasts about 10 seconds and then I can’t resist you! I’m an inquisitive girl who loves people, so pretty quickly I’ll try to be your friend. I’m young (born in late 2017) and still need some training on the leash, but here’s my secret advantage: I’m what people call “smart.” Since I want to please you, I love to learn. My previous person didn’t have time or money to take care of me, but she loved me and wanted me to be happy, so I’m here—ready to be adopted by someone who wants an active, fun-loving, good-looking dog. As she said, I have a cuddly personality. So how about we see what you think? If I can make you smile, maybe we’re made for each other!

Hi… my name is Amanda,

Adopted 1-23-20

I was considering stopping in at the Mini Market in Amado to check out their dog food, but before I could act on it, I was rescued. At TALGV I became acquainted with many loving people. After some training and a field trip, it was reported that I was a good houseguest and I appear to be housebroken. Even though I don’t actually ask, I wait until I am taken out. After a while, I walked pretty well on a leash, but I’m still learning. If I jump up or do something I shouldn’t, I can be easily corrected with “no” or “leave it.” I would love to be a member of an active, loving family. I’m waiting for the right fit. Are you looking for me?

Hi… my name is Marc (aka Mork),

Adopted 4-5-20

I’m an energetic boy that loves to play. My former owner taught me many tricks. I shake hands and know how to sit, lie down, stay, and roll over. I love big sticks and squeaker toys. I am a quick learner when treats are involved (I’ll catch it in the air!). After I exercise, and burn off excess energy, I settle down and am ready to cuddle. I get along with other dogs and cats but I’m quite rambunctious so would probably do best in a home without small children. My TALGV handler says I’m sweet and always ready to please. I’m certain when you meet me you will see what an impressive boy I am. If you’re a loving, patient person willing to make me part of your family and routine, I’m ready to go.

Hi… my name is Buddy,

Adopted 2-14-20

Comes with post-adoption support.

I’m a laid back, loving buddy to any and all who want to be my friend. I was lost and sick, and my rescuer saved my life by bringing me here. I was very underweight, and the vet discovered I had untreated diabetes. I was so tired, but now with my insulin treatments and correct diet, I’m returning to health. Folks here say I’m an affectionate, quiet, easy-peasy guy who’s totally cooperative with my insulin injections. (I also come with post-adoption support to help offset the costs associated with my diabetes.) TALGV volunteers have given me a warm coat to wear and a soft bed to snuggle in. When they visit me, I gently greet them with gratitude. I often overhear them outside my kennel saying, “That Buddy is a love!” That’s what I have in spades for the person who sees I’m worthy of their care and takes me home.

Hi… my name is Dulce,

Adopted 12-28-19

The definition of ‘dulce’ is sweet and that is how my previous owner described me. She also mentioned that I have good house manners, walk well on a leash, and know some of the basic commands. I’m here because of changes in the home where I lived for six months. During that time I had a close relationship with their other dog and we loved to run and play together. Here at TALGV, I’ve made a good impression on the volunteers. When we meet, I may seem a little bashful at first, but it doesn’t take much to win me over and then you’ll see I’m full of energy! I have a playful, affectionate nature and enjoy my daily walks. If that’s what you are interested in, then I’m ready to go home with you.

Hi… my name is Strawberry,

Adopted 11-16-19

I’m one of 4 puppies who spent our first 5 months growing up in a back yard. We were fed and looked after but didn’t have much people contact. As we got bigger and were eating more, we were brought to TALGV so we could become socialized with people and find forever homes. On our first day we were so skittish that we didn’t want to be touched. We huddled together and were given our space. It has not taken long to learn that the company of people is about as good as food! We’re still cautious, but warming up. I look like a mix of black Labrador and Hound, but who knows? What really matters is I’m full of potential to be just the canine companion you’re looking for!
