After two months with my foster mom, she wants you to know that I’m a well-mannered, handsome, sweet and gentle boy. I’m also a fast learner who knows the basic commands. I’m crate trained, love being active, and thoroughly enjoy going for walks, wearing my harness. On several occasions I reacted when passing another dog, and I appeared “curious” about cats, from a distance. Even though I’ve progressed in so many ways, I still have fears to overcome. I’m timid around “some” people, situations, or things. I appreciate being praised and enjoy hugs. I’m a gentle, tolerant girl who loves to run, play catch, and cuddle. Even though previous experience has left me somewhat between timid and shy, you can still see that sweet, loving dog I’ve always been. I do accept but don’t readily return affection. It takes a little more time and patience to earn my trust. Like they say, “slow and easy does it.” Once trust is established, you’ll be rewarded with my engaging and sweet personality. I nimbly jump into and out of cars; I’m the perfect passenger (I don’t try to drive). On a leash, I pay attention to what my handler expects of me. I’m curious about other dogs, but I don’t engage. I do have an ongoing medical condition, but with my special kibble and your special love, life can be good. How about sharing that good life with me!

I’m a happy and outgoing boy with discriminating taste when it comes to friends. If we become friends, I’ll lavish you with affection and seek the same in return. I walk well on a leash, checking in with my walker periodically, and although curious about dogs and other critters, I don’t over-react if they keep their distance. I’m perfecting “wait” and “leave it” behaviors, and would love your help in completing my repertoire of commands. It’s best if I’m the only pet in a home of active adults, who give me the attention and exercise I crave and need. I’ve walked well in the open desert, on trails, in parks and in pet stores. Somehow I got lost late last year, but a kind soul brought me to TALGV. I was sick for a bit, but they took such good care of me that now I cannot wait to meet my new person or family! I am a large boxer mix who has had some basic training and I remember quite a few commands. But it’s been a while and it would be nice to have a special someone again who can help me refresh my memory. I like outings and long walks and I like to play, too. When you sit near me, I also like to cuddle and show affection and, in return for some chin scratches or belly rubs, I will even give you kisses. Why don’t you make an appointment so we can meet?
