Hi… my name is J. Dean,

Adopted 4-6-19

I arrived here with my two brothers, each of us so scared we had to be carried in. But once in our run, we relaxed, started to play and wanted to be petted. We’re used to friendly surroundings. Our former owner loved us very much, but had to give us up due to her own health issues. One brother has already been adopted—that lucky dog!—and now Benjamin and I are hoping to be next. Born in February 2018, I still have some things to learn, but I already know how to have fun and love people; and, of course, when you love someone, you want to please them. Friends here describe me as both energetic and very sweet. If you agree that’s a loveable combination, I hope we can go home together!

Hi… my name is Benjamin,

Adopted 6-25-19

You could say I’m part-shy, part-friendliest dog ever! Once I feel confident with someone—friendly dogs or people—I just love the company. After my two brothers were adopted (our owner had to let us go due to her health issues), I went home with my foster family. That’s been great because I got to play with the two dogs there (fairly big dogs) and became very affectionate toward Foster Mom. (It’s taking a little longer to get comfortable with Foster Dad.) She reported important people-pleasing things about me, saying I’m housetrained, crate-trained, rarely bark and easy to walk. Born in February 2018, I’m happiest when playing or giving and getting affection. If all this sounds good to you, could we meet? I’d love to add my sweet, lively self to your active, happy life!

Hi… my name is Volley (aka Mindy),

Adopted 3-5-19

After I was adopted as a puppy, things were okay at home for more than two years. But then my former person started traveling a lot, didn’t feel comfortable with me around the baby, there was a problem with her brother lifting me over a fence–it’s all kind of a blur. Happily, the future looks much brighter! I’ve even been praised for being housetrained, leash- and crate-trained. Granted, I don’t always warm up to a new person right away–I’m sometimes unsure, but making new friends could build my confidence. I promise we’ll have fun playing—I’m a lively female Lab/Hound (born in 2016), and in quiet times, I really like to be close to you. So can we meet and see if we could be happy together for a long time to come?

PS Yes, those are my baby pictures at end of the gallery.

Hi… my name is Tripp,

Adopted 2-7-19

You could say I appeared out of nowhere! Of course, that’s not really true, but we don’t know how I ended up in someone’s yard. (My finder has four other dogs, so that might have led me there.) Next stop was TALGV, and some tender loving care. My left ear was torn, I had a sore spot between a couple toes, and I was real dirty. How I loved the massage of that first bath! Through it all, volunteers said, I was sweet and gentle. Oh, I’m strong on the leash, but a good walker, too. Best of all, I love companionship—maybe that’s what makes me a loving companion in return. I’m a young guy (born in 2016), but calm and patient as I wait here for you—the person who’ll love me back.

Hi… my name is Desert,

Adopted 11-3-18

I used to live outside, tied up, and so just being free in my run here is nice. My former person doesn’t have room for me now, but she left me with lots of compliments, saying I’m a very loyal dog, gentle and playful—pretty good at catching a ball, if I say so myself—got along with other animals, and know commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “down.” Plus, I’m housebroken—good to know, and has been true here at TALGV, too. I’m a Hound mix male, white with a tan eye patch, who wants you to know one special thing: I don’t need a fancy place. I just need a place called home, and if you’re my person, home will be wherever you are. May we please be happy together?
