Animal League News

Hi… my name is Clyde,

Adopted with Bonnie 2-27-18

There may be a fascinating tale about how Bonnie and I ended up on the side of the road (Duval Mine Road), but our headline news is that we were rescued! I’m a 1-year-old Husky/Heeler mix male, black and white, with 1 blue eye and one brown, and you’ll quickly notice that I’m a three-legged dog. How that came to be we don’t know; maybe that’s how I was born. In any event, I get along fine in my own way, and I’m a happy, friendly guy, who’s grateful for Bonnie. She cared for me when I had no one else in the world, and we’d love to stay together. We know it will take someone special to adopt us both, but it could happen. Indeed, someone that wonderful could be as close as you!

Hi… my name is Bonnie,

Adopted with Clyde 2-27-18

There may be a fascinating tale about how Clyde and I ended up on the side of the road (Duval Mine Road, to be specific), but our headline news is that we were rescued! I’m an 18-month-old Husky female, tricolored (silver, tan and white) with gorgeous blue eyes, and although just 60 pounds, I’m a strong dog. To quote my intake exam, I’m “very strong but sweet natured.” I like to think that’s my charming balance—strong and sweet. Volunteers say I’m friendly and loveable, too, and Clyde agrees. We’re great together and he relies on me (perhaps especially because he’s a three-legged dog), so we’d love to stay together. We know it will take someone special to adopt us both, but it could happen. Indeed, someone that wonderful could be as close as you!

Hi… my name is Lobo,

Adopted 11-24-17

After my buddy Stella (a Rottie mix) and I escaped from their place, our people brought us here so we could find a home where we’d be more likely to happily stay put. I arrived with a significantly injured toe, which has been treated and I’ve been a brave and good patient. That’s not a big surprise—although relatively young and active, I’m a sweet guy by nature. My former people called me “a loving dog,” and said I was gentle and tolerant with children (ages 9 to 16)—indeed, they said I was “great with kids”—and got along with other dogs. I’m a Husky/Shepherd mix male, 63 pounds, with blue eyes, a gorgeous white coat, and a great big heart. I’m going to be someone’s loving companion forever—could it be you?

Hi… my name is Suki,

Adopted 6-20-17

Comes with FREE Vet Care for Life

(Note: Bio needs revision.)  My best friend, Sammy, and I were left without a home when our person moved away. Thank goodness we have each other, and who knows? Maybe the best is yet to come for us! Granted, we’re all grown up, but being mature can be a very good thing. I’m a beautiful 8-year-old Husky mix female, 73 pounds, with a gorgeous black and white coat. I love to play, (especially with Sammy), go for walks, always enjoy belly rubs, being brushed, and I give lots of kisses! My former family said I was gentle with the kids (all ages visited), got along with other animals, and understand “sit,” “lay,” and “shake.” Sammy and I would like to stay together and if that’s okay in your home, we’ll double the love we give to you.

Hi… my name is Kodiak,

Adopted 5-14-17

I was rescued in Madera Highlands and my finders really liked me. While they tried to locate my owners (which didn’t happen), they let me stay with them for a month because I was good with their kids (ages 5 and 8), and their two dogs. They also said I’m very friendly and the volunteers here agree, adding that I’m playful, good-natured, and easy to love. For me, even the routine training I’m getting here is fun! All this adds up to being able to fit in lots of different households, but I only need one—could that be yours? I’m about 4 years old and under my full black and white coat (they think I’m a Husky), I’m about 64 pounds—a handsome, affectionate guy who wants the job of keeping you happy!

Cody adopted his rescuer 5-22-17

CODY is a mild-mannered, gentle 2-year-old blonde Lab/husky mix boy who lost his mom recently and needs a new loving home. He is house-broken and asks to go out, but he loves his daily walks. He weighs 120 pounds, is neutered and up to date on his shots (medical records are available). Cody likes other dogs and cats, is social with everyone, especially women, and he likes children of all ages. He is used to a doggy door and will “sit” on command. Cody is mostly a house dog who enjoys laying on his cushion, but he would enjoy a ranch or horse setting. There is no adoption fee. To arrange a meeting with this special dog, please call John between 8 AM and 8 PM at 520-591-5474.

Hi… my name is Queenie Sue,

Adopted 9-16-17

Queenie Sue has earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

Running free can be glorious if you’re safe—like when you’re at home or out running with your person. But I was found running loose and not safe at all because I was near a highway, without a collar or tag, and without a friend until a gentleman stopped, picked me up and brought me here. People say I’m stunningly beautiful—a blonde and white Husky mix female with a good-looking physique at 61 pounds—and those kind words are sweet, but I’m way more interested in how we feel about each other. Come visit and you’ll see that I’m looking for a friend. I’m 4 years old and still energetic, so we could exercise and then relax together the way old buddies do. How about it? Could we be friends for life?
