I am a leaner. To be more precise, I’m a crawler: given the chance, I’ll crawl into your lap for a belly rub—all 66 pounds of me! I just love people and I love being near them and being petted and loved back! I’ve spent a lot of time living outside recently, so I may have forgotten some of my manners, like the need to tell you when I have to go outside, or how to respond to commands. But we are working on that here at TALGV, and I know I can learn and make you proud! I like other dogs, but not cats. They say if you look into my eyes, you can see my story: that I’m a gentle soul whose favorite place is with his favorite people.

I am a really friendly, medium-sized black Labrador retriever and terrier mix who is full of energy and love for life! I’m only two years old and some of my favorite things are to play and run, or better yet, go on car rides to new places to play and run! I would like to live with someone who enjoys the outdoors as much as I do. Perhaps we could go hiking together or take lots of walks? I already know a few basic commands, and I also know how to tell someone when I need to go outside. I’d like to learn more and be a loyal buddy forever. My family could no longer keep me, so when I arrived at TALGV, with my former roommate, Phishy, I didn’t know what to expect. Now that Phishy has been adopted, I’m ready to find my own forever home. I’m a lovable 7-year-old Lab mix boy who walks well on a leash and rides well in a car. I’m more than willing to please and I really enjoy attention. I use the doggie door and it appears I’m housetrained. I’m a sociable lad and I might even like a companion to play with. I was brought to TALGV after I was found under a trailer. When I arrived, everyone knew they were in the company of an exuberant boy who is still a pup at heart. After working with my trainer, I’m settling down and gradually learning some new lessons. I’m quite proud that I know the meaning of sit and wait. I can use the doggie door and I’m possibly housetrained. I’m pretty good on walks but need more work on leash training. I’m sweet and very affectionate and I love to play. I was found tied outside “The Attic” at TALGV. I arrived with a bag of food and a bowl of water. The store was closed but luckily a volunteer was coming in to work and figured I wasn’t there to shop. I’m a sweet, approximately 1-year-old Lab/ Shepherd mix female. I found out immediately how friendly everyone is. I was also fortunate enough to arrive in time for breakfast. Everyone went to work making me comfortable and even showed me how to use a doggie door. Now I have a private room with my own yard and toys to play with. It seems they have some kind of school here to teach pups like me and find us new homes. Please make an appointment to meet me because I would love my own forever home.

Milo

MILO is a mellow and playful 14-month-old, 40-pound, Staffie/Lab mix boy who needs a new home. He was rescued a short time ago but owner plans to move away and cannot take him. He is in good health, neutered, up to date on shots, and medical records are available. He is house, leash, and crate trained. He is well behaved and obedience training; he will sit, go down, stay, shake, and come to his name. Milo is playful and energetic. He gets along well with children, but not with cats or other large dogs. Milo can be shy with new people, but he will be your loyal companion, especially if you give him lots of exercise.
