I got my name after dodging a car (yep, I’m fast too!) and getting scooped up by a hero named Kris. I was skinny, scrappy, and clearly nobody had given me the love I deserved—until now. The shelter crew feeds me, spoils me, and can confirm I’m a heart-stealer. I’m about 2 years old and learning how to be friends with other dogs. Puppies are more my speed right now, since I’m still recovering, but I’ll graduate to grown dogs. I’ve got a big personality, a bigger heart, and I’m ready to find my person. Yes, that’s my real name. No, I don’t pop out of cakes – LOL! I’m 48 pounds of fabulous and mildly awkward charm. I lost my home recently, but I didn’t lose my sparkle. I’m adjusting with the help of my awesome TALGV crew – both 2- and 4-legged —even if group living isn’t really my thing. (I mean, who doesn’t get a little anxious with noisy neighbors?) I’m medium-energy: down for a walk, up for a nap, repeat. Kids? Uh…hard pass. I’m more of a grown-up’s dog. Think quiet evenings and snacks that “accidentally” fall on the floor. Once I trust you, I’m loyal, loving, and will absolutely judge your TV choices—but in a supportive way. CLEAVE is a super friendly 5-year-old, 65-pound black Border Collie/Lab mix male who needs a new home. He is leash trained and house trained (asks to go out and will use doggy door). Cleave is in good health, up to date on shots and medical records are available. He has had rattlesnake avoidance training and obedience training (knows: come, sit, stay, and leave it). He loves to play with other dogs, kids, and adults; cats are unknown. Cleave is smart and energetic; he enjoys trail running. He is a delightful dog who would be great with a family or a country dog with room to roam. There is no adoption fee. But after he was injured, I found myself back at the shelter. Life threw me a curveball, but I’m still wagging and ready for a fresh start.
