Hi… my name is Rusty,

Adopted 3-25-24

Today I’m a happy, playful guy with an adorable teddy bear look. But not too long ago I was lost, all alone on the edge of town and not knowing what to do. Imagine my relief when a wonderful person stopped for me and brought me here! Now I’m safe, comfy, cared for and learning young dog lessons. As my volunteer friends say, I’m good natured but need some guidance (which may previously have been missing from my life). I always welcome company, and my young dog energy makes me eager to play and have fun. Other personality traits? Well, I was well behaved during a bath, those big delivery trucks scare me, and I’d love to have you for a friend. Please stop by for a visit. We might become best friends forever!

Adopted with Charlie 4-14-24

CHARLIE is a 14-pound, 11-year-old PB Yorkshire Terrier with a black and gold coat.

SIMBA is Charlie’s son, a 7-year-old, 10-pound Yorkie mix with a handsome golden coat.

Charlie and Simba are gentle, well-behaved Yorkies that love adults and children. They are neutered, up to date on shots, healthy, and medical records are available. They respond to commands: sit, come, walk, shake, snackie, and bathie. They are good with other dogs but not with cats. They are trained to use pee pads in the house, will ask to go out, or will use doggy door. They are leash trained and love going for walks. Charlie and Simba are bonded companions and need to be adopted together. If you will welcome Charlie and Simba into a loving home as part of your family, please call Christina anytime at 520-272-9771.

Hi… my name is Mr. Pickles,

Adopted 10-21-24

I am a shining example of how giving a dog time to decompress can transform their life. I was in quite a “pickle” living on my own in the elements for a long time. Thanks to the kindness of dedicated humans in the neighborhood, I was able to make my way to TALGV. Initially scared and hesitant, I was given time, love and lots of patience; I learned being a dog is fun and have made plenty of human and canine friends. I love car rides and to go on walks and show off my command repertoire for treats. Beyond my handsome looks, I’m a humble guy ready to be part of an active family. With your time and commitment, I’ll bring the loyalty, love and give new meaning to “hold the Pickles!”

Hi… my name is Ralphie,

Adopted 4-13-24

Thanks to the loving care of my foster parents, I’m finally healing and discovering how good life can be. Also, hats off to their Westie, Scampy. I’ve enjoyed hanging out and napping with you! I was found alongside the road with a painful injury. As a result, my leg couldn’t be saved, but I’m learning how to get along quite well. I’m content going in my crate when I choose, at night, and when left alone. I’ve needed some encouragement to go out to potty, but I’m improving daily. I’m a sweet, gentle, loving boy who enjoys getting praises, belly rubs, and any kind of attention. I need someone who can offer me security, patience, and ongoing love and care. Making “goofy” sounds is how I communicate, but for you I’ll translate: “Please take me home!”

Hi… my name is Chase,

Adopted 9-29-24

To a lost dog, there’s nothing better than having a comfortable roof over your head, good food to eat, and loving attention. I’m a little cautious at first, but once we’re friends, I’ll openly encourage you to show me all the affection and attention you have to offer. I love being close to people! In fact, it’s rumored that I’m quickly winning the hearts of many of the volunteers. After all, I am a handsome, lovable Shepherd mix with two perfectly beautiful eyes, one blue and one brown. I’ll “sit” and might “stay” when told, can use a doggy door, and may possibly ask to go out. I’ve been getting along with my roommate and seem to be good with other dogs. Let’s get together and compare notes; we might discover that we’re a perfect match.

Hi… my name is Lilly (aka Stella),

Adopted 5-4-24

Due to lack of time and family obligations, my owner felt she couldn’t give me enough attention. I’m good when left at home alone, know the commands “sit,” “shake,” and “stay,” and ask to go out. I also know the different meanings of “love.” For example: I love watching TV, going for walks, playing ball, getting massages, and I especially love being close to my person. I’ve been fine with a visiting 4-year-old granddaughter. When it comes to meeting new canine friends, I may like most of them, but sometimes I’ll meet one that I don’t, then you can guide me in the right direction. Sorry, I really don’t like cats! Please come by and visit. I can be ready to go home in two shakes of a “dog’s” tail!

Hi… my name is Some-A,

Adopted by previous owner 4-21-24

If you think I got my name based on the fact that I’m “some- a-this and some-a-that” breed, you’d be right! I’m 100% unique: from my expressive eyes to my gorgeous coat and build, it all adds up to the one-of-a-kind, stunning me! I’m athletic, bubbly, eager to please, and would likely excel in agility. My manners are impeccable. I love going for walks with my two- and four-legged friends. Once I decide you are one of ‘my people,’ I’m the most loyal, loveable girl you’ll ever meet. All I ask from you is to give me time to earn my trust. My devotion is proof that anything worth having is worth working for. Come spend some time with me and see for yourself. I guarantee your heart will melt.

Hi… my name is Sugar,

Adopted with Spice 5-27-24

If I’m a little shy when we first meet, I hope you’ll understand. Once upon a time I was lost and had to be very careful. But here at TALGV, I’m growing more comfortable every day. My TALGV friends tell me I’m adorable and that helps. As a young adult I continue to learn but already know some important things. For instance, I appear to be housetrained as I “go” on my walks here, I’ve been good on a leash and understand the word “stay.” And here’s a secret:  I’m what they call food motivated. In other words, treats often hold my interest and make me happy.  I’m a female Pug mix with a tan coat and sparkling brown eyes who’d really like to meet you. Maybe you and I could share many happy times together.
