Not too long ago, my siblings and I were all alone in a wash… hungry, thirsty puppies, not knowing what to do. Then, suddenly, almost everything changed! A kind stranger rescued us and brought us here, where we’ve been safe and comfy, playing and growing every day since. Of course, we’re still puppies, adorable and loads of fun, with lots to learn. TALGV volunteers already have started teaching us how to walk on a leash, and other things good dogs need to know. I’m a beautiful black and tan Heeler/Lab mix female, who weighed 8.8 pounds at two months. I’ll get bigger, of course, but mainly I hope to grow into a loyal, loving, good dog who makes my person happy. If you could guide me on that path, I’d love to be yours!

Sweet Pea

If you are wondering how and why I got my name, I’ll be more than happy to fill you in. A caring, concerned lady rescued me from the busy Circle K parking lot and brought me to TALGV. Once here, they immediately noticed what a sweet, friendly and affectionate “momma dog” I am. Thus, I was named “Sweet Pea!” I’m always happy spending time with the volunteers and enjoy going for walks around our neighborhood. We’ll have to wait and see, when we get home, all the things I may already know, or need to learn! I’m an approximately seven-year-old female Lab mix who would like to be introduced to a loving person, who can’t wait to share their home with someone like me…who’s also loving. Wait a minute!!! Super-cute, smart, and sociable girl seeks dance partners who love to go on walks, play, have cuddle time and just have all-around fun. I arrived at TALGV with my brothers who’ve since been adopted, but for some unknown reason, I’m STILL waiting for my forever home. I’m a husky/staffie mix, which means I’m naturally adorable, eager to learn and live to make people happy. I love other dogs and have had several playmates – who all seem to get adopted. Maybe I’m a good-luck charm who helps others find their new family. Now it’s my turn. I just KNOW my people are out there somewhere. Rylee is an energetic and smart 19-month-old, 37-pound, German Shepherd mix female that needs a new home. She is house trained and asks to go out. She is in good health, spayed and up to date on shots. Rylee is leash trained and loves to play fetch, especially in the pool. She is toy and treat motivated; she loves attention and being near her owner. She likes other dogs and loves children of all ages; cats are unknown. Bugsy is an affectionate and smart 15-month-old, 21-pound, Pug/Boston Terrier mix male that needs a new home because he no longer gets along with his brother. He is house trained and asks to go out. He is in good health, neutered, up to date on shots, and medical records are available. Bugsy loves to catch balls and is very playful, but he would benefit from more leash training. Other dogs and cats are not his friends; children are unknown. He will sit for treats but can be slow to warm up to strangers. Glory

Once upon a time there were three puppies who came to TALGV together, and I was one of them! Volunteers said I was friendly even on that first day, probably because I’d been around people before. But living indoors was new to me and I’m loving it! Oh, I’m an active pup who loves playing outside, but having my own comfy, safe place inside, too, is probably what a forever home feels like. I hope so. These days, I’m practicing leash-walking and learning what important words like “sit,” “down,” and “wait” mean. I’m also eating well and growing, on my way to being a good-size dog. I’m an affectionate, beautiful black and white Husky/Staffie mix female who’d really like to meet you. Won’t you please come visit?

First, let me say I can run, jump, and get dirty like any dog. Indeed, I love going to the play yard to chase balls, jump in a pool in warm weather, and happily engage in rowdy play with a canine pal. But there’s another side to me, too. I know how to be calm and loving, grateful for a person’s attention and affection. Recently some volunteers gave me a bath and described my behavior as perfect, “an amazing gentleman” during the bath, gorgeous and soft afterward. I share my run with another dog and he’s fun company but some of my favorite times are with friendly humans. I’m a handsome Husky/ Staffie mix male with a black coat and white markings, who’d welcome the chance to share playful, tranquil, and contented times with you.

On my first day here, when a volunteer looked into my deep brown eyes and said, “Welcome to TALGV,” I didn’t know what to think. But I do now! I’ve always had fun playing with my siblings or people, but now I think my learning job is fun, too. For instance, I enjoy practicing with volunteers on what to do for words like “sit,” “stay,” or “wait.” (I’m already good on “sit” and learning more.) I love being outdoors and active, so working on leash-walking is also important for me. As a Husky/Staffie mix female, likely to grow into a good-size dog, I look forward to regular exercise with my person. So, what do you think?
