Hi… my name is Opal,

I’m a naturally curious pup who likes to take the world in one thoughtful moment at a time. Having a calm, easygoing doggy friend by my side would be perfect for me—it helps me feel safe, grounded, and a little more confident as I explore new things. I’m slowly learning that humans aren’t nearly as scary as I once believed, and I’m beginning to suspect they might actually be kind, patient, and very generous with treats (which I consider a great character trait for 2 leggers). Beneath my cautious exterior lives a soft curiosity, a quiet sweetness, and a gentle sense of humor that reveals itself if you’re paying close attention. I may not rush into the spotlight, but once I trust you, my warmth shines through in subtle, meaningful ways. I’m the kind of pup who blossoms with patience, consistency, and love—and I promise the reward is worth the wait!

Hi… my name is Lola,

Adopted 1-27-26

I may be small, but my heart is mighty. I came into rescue as a stray while getting the vet care I needed, and with a little patience (and a friendly canine roommate) I found my confidence. I may start out shy, but once I trust you, my sweet, affectionate side shines. I have a slight limp in my right hind leg from an old injury, so marathons aren’t my thing — but cozy walks, couch time, and loving companionship absolutely are. I’m under 40 pounds, perfectly “fun-sized,” with a cute tail nub, a beautiful brindle-and-white-spotted coat, and an underbite that steals hearts. If you’re looking for a gentle soul who believes in LOLA — Lots of Love Always — I’m ready to bring it into your life for 2026 and beyond.

Hi… my name is Sonny,

Adopted 3-2-26

I may not be an international superstar, but the beat definitely goes on the moment I enter a room. I’m a sweet, tail-wagging optimist currently looking for a permanent backup singer. I’m all about cozy vibes and would love to be curled up near you (maybe even in your lap once I get comfortable!). I can be a tad bit shy but once I warm up, you’ll see my silly soul on full display. Extra bonus, my fur screams low maintenance and high fashion like my namesake’s style! I’m a professional finger licker who firmly believes “I Got You Babe” was a prophetic anthem about us sharing the rest of my life with you. If you’re looking for a loyal duet partner to brighten your days, I’m your guy. Adopt me and let’s make some beautiful cuddly music together!

Hi… my name is Cher,

Adopted 1-19-26

I’m a bashful pup who likes to take in the world very carefully. I get along well with other dogs and it helps me build confidence. With people, I prefer slow introductions. Once I start to feel safe, I’ll come over for a few gentle sniffs to say hello. Treats are absolutely my thing, and I’ll even sit on command for them! I may not jump into things right away, but once I trust you, my sweetness shows up in soft, sweet ways. I’m the kind of dog who will do best with humans who can provide calmness, routine, and kindness. If you’re willing to give me time, I promise a bond that’s strong, loyal, and—dare I say—Cher-ished. Here’s a message to my future forever home: If I could turn back time…I’d start it all over with you!

Hi… my name is Walter,

Adopted 12-19-25

I’m the handsome, quiet type. Think of me as the guy at a party who hangs back, observing. While I may not make the first move, I promise I’m worth the wait. What I know for certain is how much I love other dogs! They give me courage and bring out my playful side. With people, I take more time, so the 3-day, 3-weeks, & 3-month guideline TALGV encourages will help me adjust. If you don’t mind, I’d rather skip sleeping in a crate (not a big fan) and maybe cuddle with you? I’m already house-trained, non-barking, and easy to walk on leash—I don’t react to other dogs at all. With patience and love, I’ll show you the loyal, gentle heart beneath the shyness. Looking for perfection in dog form? Ask to meet me.  Love, Walter.

Hi… my name is Maddox,

Life changed suddenly for my sister and me when our family had to return us because of allergies. She has already found her forever home, and now I’m patiently waiting for mine. I’m a handsome Lab mix who enjoys the good things in life — daily walks, polite manners, and hanging with my people. I’m house-trained, walk nicely on leash, and know commands like sit, down, leave it, and wait. I may be a little unsure at first, but once I feel safe, my sweet, affectionate personality shines. I’ve also discovered my confidence increases with a friendly female dog around. My foster buddy and I love to wrestle and play. I’m not a fan of male dogs, but with patience and a friendly female canine resident, I’ll be a loyal, devoted companion. (2-2026)

Hi… my name is Marley,

Adopted 3-29-26

Life on my own wasn’t easy for a guy like me. The scars I carry are reminders of how far I’ve come. Now, my human friends enjoy watching my personality unfold. I recently attended an elementary school event, where I was gentle with kids and soaked up attention and belly rubs like a seasoned professional. My foster family found me to be a sweet, easygoing boy who loves sitting close to my person—lap-warmer, maybe? I’m hard of hearing, but I’m learning hand signals and enjoying new experiences. I ride well in the car and relax quietly in my crate. I practice polite house manners while moonlighting as an expert dog-toy defluffer. I’m looking for a calm, confident leader who helps me feel safe, so I can relax and enjoy being a dog. Maybe that’s you?

Hi… my name is Oliver,

Adopted 1-19-26

Look no further — I’m your future best friend and proud owner of a premium Dad Bod™, but sorry, no Dad Jokes™. You’ll just have to settle for my irresistible mojo. I’m not fat, per se… maybe just gravitationally challenged. But I’m working on trimming down, thanks to my love of walks (also known as “outdoor snacking prevention”). I was found wandering a nearby neighborhood, and although my microchip led to a former owner, no one came to claim me — shocking, I know, because who wouldn’t want THIS low-rider deluxe? I’m polite, friendly, and I get along great with other dogs here. I’m also “crate trained,” meaning I prefer to nap or supervise from the top of the crate. If you want a goofy, loyal, middle-aged guy with plenty of charm, pick me!

Hi… my name is Pumpkin,

Are you looking for a new four-legged family member who’s already house-trained, won’t chew up your belongings, and doesn’t require endless amounts of training or exercise? Look no further, as I’m your girl! Ms. Manners is impressed with my impeccable house manners. For example, there is no need for me to be confined to a room or crate. I might approach the table when you’re eating, but if ignored, I’ll retreat to my bed. I loved exploring the outdoors in the safety of my foster home’s backyard. Humans? Yes, please!  I’m a social butterfly with people and enjoy playing with other dogs in a group setting. I promise though, you won’t need another dog when you have sweet-as-pie ME!

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.
