You can’t spell “lovable” without L-O-L-A! When my person’s health declined, I lost my home, and arriving at the shelter was scary. I was very shut down at first, but kind people, patience, and a friendly canine roommate are helping me come out of my shell. I love walking with dog friends, curling up in my crate when I need a break, and being sung to— I don’t care if you’re off-key! Thunderstorms? I do get nervous, but a calming jacket settles my nerves. Oh, and one polite request: please don’t touch my feet, thank-you-very-much. I’d do best in a quieter home without young kids, but semi-active adults and another playful, confident dog to show me the ropes would be good. If you go slow, I’ll reward you with all the love my shy little heart can give.

I used to tag along with my brother Warwick, but now I’m happy to do my own thing. (No offense, bro, but I’ve got my own style.) My foster family has been showing me how fun meeting new folks can be, and I’m catching on fast. I walk nicely on leash, enjoy new adventures, and know when to chill out for a good couch snuggle. Volunteers say I’m calm, well-mannered, and easy to walk. I also love splashing in the kiddie pool—it’s my happy place. I’ve joined a few dog play groups and made several canine friends—turns out I’m better at the whole “making friends” thing than I thought! At 92 lbs of fluffy mystery mix, I might be best in a home with older, respectful kids. I may be the “new girl” now, but I’d love to be the “forever girl” in your life. People see my muscles and think I moonlight as a gym trainer. Truth is, I’m more of a “personal play” instructor—just ask my foster family. I used to let my brother DJ handle the social stuff while I focused on important things like sniffing, flexing, and deep thinking. But now that I’m doing my own thing, I’m learning that the world’s not so scary—and that meeting new people can actually be pretty great (especially when treats are involved). Toys are starting to look interesting, too. I’m still cautious about weird noises and surprise objects, but every day I get a little braver and a lot more fun.
