Princess is an affectionate and well-mannered 16-pound, 10-month-old female Terrier/Poodle mix that needs a good home as owners’ new jobs do not allow time for their dogs. She is spayed, crate trained, asks to go out, and uses doggy door. Princess is healthy and is up to date with her shots. She loves to play with her doggy companion and kids (ages 2-8); cats are unknown. There is no adoption fee for this sweet girl.

If you will welcome Princess into a loving home as part of your family, please call Kristina between 8 AM and 8 PM at 309-261-6510.

Hi… my name is Teddy,

Adopted 5-18-18

There were twelve of us—6 young dogs and 6 newborn puppies—left in an abandoned house without food or water in triple-digit heat. Then a door opened. A woman had heard us. She was our first hero, and there would be many more. Indeed, we were in such dire straits that the rescue activity at TALGV by so many people—busy with fluids, cooling, nourishment, whatever we needed—is a bit of a blur. What I know for sure is that our lives were saved that day. Now we each have a future—a chance to thrive, play, give and receive love. I’m a small Poodle mix male, blonde, 9-1/2 pounds, and I’m sure you understand why I’m so ready for a carefree, fun, happy life in a comfy, loving home with you!   (bio needs update)

Hi… my name is Katie (aka Jamie),

Adopted 6-16-18

The world is full of sweet, understanding people, which is why I believe I’ll find my perfect home even though I’m not an “everyone” kind of dog. Most noises scare me, crowds do, too, and I haven’t been good with some children. But you know what I do very well? Cuddle on your lap. Indeed, for the right grown-up person or couple—patient and kind—I’ll be a very loving, devoted companion who asks only for a quiet home, a couple of toys, and a lap to snuggle in. I’m a 5-year-old, 13-pound female with a gray and white wavy coat. One of my front legs is crooked, but I’m used to that, and here’s hoping you’ll find me adorable in my own little way. If so, may I be your little dog forever?

Hi… my name is Louie,

Adopted with Gunner 3-25-18

Beneath my curly coat, you’ll find a fun, happy guy who loves his brother (Gunner), gets along with other dogs, and could be called athletic—my favorite outing is going for a walk; my favorite game is Fetch the Ball. Gunner and I were littermates; we’ve always been together and we’re very bonded. (We eat and drink from the same dishes, and sleep together in our own little beds.) We’re 3-year-old Poodle males, (18 and 19 pounds), have been good with visiting young children, well mannered in the house, and I like to watch TV (which Gunner tolerates peacefully). We had a good life with our former people, but now they have health issues and are moving to a smaller place, so we need someone new to love. Could our someone-to-love forever be you?

Hi… my name is Cassie,

Adopted 5-4-18

Comes with Free Vet Care for Life

For years, my person and I enjoyed our gentle little world. For assistance, she had home-care, and for love and companionship, we had each other. When she died, her family couldn’t take me because their dogs really didn’t want a new sibling, but I’ll be okay. I’m little, but my heart is more than big enough to love again and my friends say I’m very loveable, too. I’m a well-behaved, leash-trained, 12-year-old white Poodle mix female, just 11 pounds so a perfect fit on your lap or on the sofa beside you, and I hope in my cute little face you can see my truly sweet nature. I’m ready and eager to be a faithful companion to a kind, loving someone. If you’ll let me be yours, we can start being happy together now!

Hi… my name is Nestle,

Adopted 12-16-17

Comes with Free Vet Care for Life

Two years ago, when my person died, a friend of hers took me in. But then she couldn’t take care of me any longer either, and so I didn’t know what to expect. I’m not a puppy anymore. I’ve had to say good-bye twice. What if no one new wanted me? And then—presto! I came to TALGV and now my future is bright again. The volunteers say I’m exactly the kind of dog a lot of people could love—a little gray Poodle male, just 11 pounds but lively, too. I get happily excited at walk time and love human companionship. (You may see my smile.) And at age 11, I come with free vet care for life! I’m ready for a nice long happily ever after. How about I share it with you?
