Mia

Mia was adopted 3/3/14

Hi… my name is Mia.

I lived with my family for two months after I was found in the yard of a home in Rancho Sahaurita. Everyone (dogs, cats, and three little kids) was ecstatic to have me around because I was a gentle and affectionate girl who loved to play. Unfortunately, they had to move to a place where pets weren’t allowed, so they had to give me up (but their loss will be your gain!). They said that I know “sit” really well (that’s a snap, especially when you have a treat in your hand!), and they were sure that I’d easily learn lots of other things because I’m smart and eager to please. I’m about 4 years old, weigh 18 pounds, and am a beautiful “foxy” mix of Pomeranian and maybe retriever. I’m vivacious and full of energy, so I’m looking for a family that will indulge me in playtime, but still give me the education I need.

Hi… my name is Dawn.

My pal, Dusk, and I were abandoned in early February so my origin is a mystery, but now that I’m here the volunteers are discovering more about my personality every day. I’m still a little shy (I had to board at a local kennel for a while, so didn’t get a lot of one-on-one time), but I’m basically a friendly gal who walks “pretty well” on a leash (the more often I go out, the better I get!), and I really like people a lot when I get to know them. I’m a fluffy, mahogany-colored, Retriever/Chow mix girl, and I’m sure if I had a nice big yard and kids (or another dog pal) to play with, I’d become the loving companion I was meant to be. If you’d give me a chance, I’d be forever grateful.

Hi… my name is Gracie.

I only spent three days with my rescuers (who found me at the Sahuarita Baptist church, hence my name!), but in that time they said that I was a friendly girl who was gentle and tolerant with their kids, but that I preferred human company over the resident dogs. Apparently I “slept a lot,” but that might just be because I’d probably been living outside for a while since I’ve got a few scars to attest to my less-than-perfect-so-far life. At my age, I may have seen more “action” than many dogs twice that age. I’m a small and pretty, retriever mix, and I’m absolutely positive that if you give me a safe, loving home, you’ll wonder what you ever did without me — and I’ll think I won the doggie lottery with you in my life! C’mon, make that happen for both of us!
