Hi… my name is Rodney,

Adopted 7-16-17

Asked for one word to describe me, I’d choose “loving.” That may be surprising for a young, 71-pound, Rottweiler mix male, but it’s who I am—a sweet, easygoing, affectionate fellow who just happens to come in size large. (If okay with you, I might sit and lift my paw so you can scratch my chest, or gently rest my head on your arm.) The man who found me really wanted to keep me, but his other dog said no, which was a shame because I’m a peace-loving guy. Just ask my neighbors here, or the volunteers who walk me—they say I may not have had much leash training before, but I’m so cooperative, it’s easily done. Being your loyal, loving companion would be even easier, so let’s start today!

Hi… my name is Gunther,

Adopted 8-13-17

Gunther has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

Last fall, I arrived as a thin little puppy with scrapes and scratches on my face. Happily, I was soon adopted and my people said I was great with kids, but they brought me back for doing some puppy chewing at home. My TALGV friends have lots of good training ideas to get me through that stage and I’m doing so well, I’ve now earned my AKC Canine Good Citizen Certificate—proof of my excellent manners! I make great eye contact with my person, can chill out pretty easily, and I’m very responsive to affection. Indeed, I’m so friendly, I can wag my whole body just to show how happy I am to see you! A 1-year-old male, 62 pounds, I’m ready to be your partner in fun for a long time to come.

Hi… my name is Bubba,

Adopted 10-23-16

Running around a wash can be fun for a while, but when you start to get hungry or thirsty, or can’t find shelter or protection, it’s no place to be. I know—I’m a 1-year-old pup who was rescued from a wash, a little shy and shaken at first, but now back to my lively, happy self. I’m a black and tan Rottweiler mix male, a slender 58 pounds; people tell me I’m handsome, but mainly I’m looking back at them, thinking, “we could have so much fun together!” My rescuers said I played and slept with their cat and dog, liked car rides, and was friendly with everyone. Here, I’ve had a kennelmate and lots of friends, but what I need is someone to love who’ll love me back forever. Someone like you!

Hi… my name is Princess,

Adopted March 25, 2016

I lived with my former family since I was a puppy and loved playing with the kids (ages 4, 6, 9 and 10), but after major changes in the family’s life, (which didn’t relate to me), I need to find a new home. I’m a 4-year-old black and tan Rottweiler female, about 77 pounds, and since my breed is known for being strong and powerful, you might be surprised by my sweet and affectionate personality. I’ve been known to offer kisses to those bringing me food and water. Until now, I always lived outside and was not leashed trained, so a comfy home with some helpful training will be a wonderful, positive change for me. I have lots of love and a lifetime of loyalty to give; please let me give it to you.
