Hi… my name is Millie,

Adopted 1-29-24

I’ve been at TALGV for a while because, after a tough start in life, I can have issues when overstimulated. I take medication to help me take more things in stride but will need continued guidance. My foster mom says I’m a good houseguest: I get along with her dogs, do well in my crate when left alone and at night, and know all basic commands. She also reports that I don’t jump fences or dig in the yard, and ride well in the car. My ideal forever home is calm and quiet, without kids, small dogs or cats, but preferably with a doggie companion. If you have experience dealing with a “slightly less than perfect” dog and the time and patience to direct me, I’ll try my best to become your most loyal companion.

Hi… my name is Bogey,

Adopted 9-25-21

Like the theme song from Casablanca, that other Bogey’s movie says, “It’s still the same old story, a fight for love and glory…” but I say all I need is the love! Of course I wouldn’t say no to “the fundamental things.” I’m speaking of my new forever home, one so secure that I won’t leave without permission. I’m a loving, well-mannered boy with an agreeable personality, who walks well on a leash, listens to my handler, asks to go out, and knows the commands “sit” and “stay.” I love people and I’ve been good around other dogs and children (ages 12 and 15.) As the song says, “You must remember this…” I’m waiting for you to take me home. I know we’ll be happy…”as time goes by.”

Hi… my name is Magic,

Adopted 9-19-21

Everyone needs some MAGIC in their life. That, my friend, is why I’m here…waiting for you! After a casual, loose-leash walk with a friendly volunteer, she was more than happy to report that I’m “excellent” on a leash, and I know the “sit” command. She seems to believe that someone once cared enough to spend time working with me. It’s not known about my former life, but if  scars are any indication it wasn’t always easy. I’m a male, approximately 3-year-old, Lab/Staffie mix who has so much more to offer. I’m ready to settle down and enjoy some of the finer things in life. I don’t require much, just a home of my own with a comfortable bed, good food, and above all, someone I can love and who loves me. Could that be you?

Hi… my name is Heidi,

Adopted 8-14-23

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

“I love people!” I’ll cry out a friendly greeting, and go out of my way to meet “dog friendly” people on my walks. Don’t be surprised if I sit on your feet! I could use additional behavior training around other dogs and a strong outgoing handler. I’m a well-behaved eight-year-old that comes with Vet Care Support for Life. I’m very particular about where I sleep, so when I get a whim, or feel ignored, I’ll move my beds around. I’m potty trained, and I know sign language. Did I mention I’m deaf? I’m a good watch dog and I’ll bark out a warning (critters be on guard). I’ll need love, cuddles, and hugs. How about you?                      (11/22)

Hi… my name is Stella,

Adopted 3-26-22

I’m an exuberant, 2-year-old female Staffie mix. I’m a lucky girl to have been brought to TALGV after my former owner passed away. I have a sweet disposition with people, and that’s easy for me since I enjoy giving and receiving affection. I’m strong and full of energy, and can easily get excited, so I’ll need a strong person who can guide me in the right direction. Since I don’t get along with other dogs and tend to be possessive of my things, I should probably be an only dog. I can use a doggie door and walk well on a leash, and there’s probably so much more I can do. Time will tell! Another way to learn of my accomplishments is to take me into your home and find out yourself. Please say you’re willing… because I’m ready to go!

Hi… my name is Nellie,

Adopted 5-2-21

I’m a 2-year-old female Basset/Staffie mix and I’m looking for a home. I can use most doggie doors (I have short legs), and according to a volunteer I’m sweet and I “walk like a dream.” When I recently had a visitor, we had a long conversation about the situation I’m in. You know! No forever-home. We sat face to face and I patiently waited until she finished talking, then I replied with series of a soft, low howls. I don’t know if she understood me, but for some reason she thought that was adorable. What can I say, I AM adorable! You really need to meet me to appreciate me. With my mixed heritage I’ll double your pleasure, double your fun, and you will admit that I’m the one!

Hi… my name is Pepper,

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

It’s been a while since I arrived at TALGV, but I’ve come a long way, baby! I’m still that sweet, energetic gal who enjoys playing fetch with my toys and going for long walks. Being in a foster home has been a happy experience for me. My foster mom says I’ve been “excellent” with the kids. I’m house and crate trained and understand the commands; “sit,” “wait,” “down,” and “shake.” I can offer you faithful companionship, if you can offer me a home without cats; in fact, it would be best if I were your ONLY pet. It’s important to note that I come with Vet Care Support for Life. Please come and meet me soon and maybe I can interest you in a game of fetch.

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Diamond,

Adopted 4-8-21

If you were expecting a “Diamond in the Ruff” you’re going to be pleasantly surprised. I’m a sweet, affectionate 3-year-old Staffie mix girl. Since arriving here, I discovered that I love going for a ride in the car, especially when the destination is a new place to explore. My handler said I walk well on a leash and I pay close attention to what he expects of me. I know how to use a doggie door and sit when told. I possibly know a lot more, but that’s up to you to find out. I’m enjoying my stay here at Hotel TALGV but no one wants to live in a hotel forever. What I’m trying to say is “I WANT A NEW HOME.” Please come and discover that this Diamond is a real gem.

Hi… my name is Percy,

Adopted 3-31-21

Even though I’m 3 years old, the way I act you’d think I was an overgrown puppy. Let’s face it, I love people! It doesn’t take much to make me happy. I enjoy going on outings (anywhere) and I look forward to going on hiking trips. Just remember, if I’m going to be outdoors for a long time, take plenty of water because when I get overly excited, I can get dehydrated. I’m good riding in vehicles and I also walk well on a leash but I’m easily distracted. I may be a big, affectionate boy but I’m stronger than I look. I definitely need a firm hand and my trainer highly recommends a well-fitted harness. I already know a few basic commands so it’s up to you to continue my education. I can’t wait to begin!

Adopted 9-1-21

Lola is a sweet and smart 60-pound, 2-year-old female Boxer/ Staffie mix that needs a new home since she no longer gets along with other dog in the family. She is housebroken, crate trained, and loves to play. She enjoys long walks and is obedience trained (knows and responds to many commands). She is healthy, has been spayed, is up to date with shots, and medical records are available. Lola is somewhat shy with new people and has been okay with small children, but she needs to be an only pet. There is no adoption fee for this special girl.
