Animal League News

Hi… my name is Autumn,

Adopted 2-3-24

When our finder kindly brought us to TALGV, my two puppies were excited about the food and I was most grateful for the soft, warm blanket. At last, we had a safe place to be, an amazing change for us. Hard times in the past left me with scars, but I’ve always managed to hold on to my big, gentle heart and sweet nature. Indeed, dear friends here call me an angel in disguise. I love that. Almost as much as I loved my first TALGV bath—such luxury—plus a wonderful massage! I’m good on leash and, very importantly, I’ve been a good mom, too. Is there a chance you might find me easy to love? I’m sure the feeling would be mutual. How about we meet for a visit and find out!

Hi… my name is Patty,

Adopted 12-29-23

On a warm September evening, our brave and beautiful mother gave birth to my siblings and me right here at The Animal League! She’d been found and brought to TALGV just two days earlier, so we were very lucky to start our lives in this safe and comfy place. Since then, we’ve been busy growing, learning—including how to walk on a leash—and playing. We’ve had all kinds of fun playing together and with human friends, but now things are changing. Most of my siblings have found their new homes and I’m hoping it’s my turn very soon. I’m a fun-loving, beautiful Staffie mix female, ready to go home with my forever family. If you could welcome puppy love and energy in your life, please come meet me as soon as you can!

Hi… my name is Nacho (aka Harrison),

Adopted 11-10-24

What comes to mind when you hear my name… corn chips covered with melted cheese, etc. or the song, “Nacho, Nacho man?” Whoops! Should that be with an “M?” The reality is I’m a big, handsome boy who walks well on a leash, with a strong handler. I’m crate trained (when left alone), ask to go out, and know some commands. I’m not a snob, but I am cautious around people I’m not familiar with. I need to get to know someone to feel comfortable around them. Once this is accomplished, I can be very affectionate and loving. In other words… be patient! It may sound corny and cheesy, but let me say I’d love to be your “Macho Nacho” boy. Does that sound appetizing to you? Let’s go home!

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.                                                                                                   (bio revised 12-4-23)

Hi… my name is Eddie (aka Cocoa),

Adopted 2-5-24

When people say humans and dogs belong together, I want to reply a hearty “thank you” because that’s how I feel, too. Truth be told, I love human attention and affection, and I’m happy to give as much as I receive. When my person had to go overseas and I came here, I hoped to make new friends quickly.  Lucky for me, that’s what happened! Granted, the volunteers report that I need some guidance on manners (such as knowing when not to jump and leash training), but they describe me as eager to please, very sweet and friendly. I love to play and at my former home was good with kids and lived peacefully with another dog. If you’re friendly too, please stop by for a visit. We might decide to be friends forever!

Fatsy is a smart and affectionate 60-pound, 9-month-old male Staffie mix that needs a new home as he is too high energy for small children. He is housebroken, enjoys car rides, and walks well on leash. He is crate trained, house trained (asks to go out), well behaved and knows commands sit, wait, stay, leave it, and lay. Fatsy is healthy, has been neutered, and is up to date with shots (medical records available). He does not get along with other dogs, cats are unknown, and kids should be older than 10. He loves to play and cuddle with family and would enjoy more training. There is no adoption fee. If you will welcome Fatsy into a loving home as part of your family, please call Robert any time at 520-834-7777.

Hi… my name is Diamond,

Adopted 12-3-23

Months ago, I was one of seven little puppies brought to The Animal League in a cardboard box!  Since then, I’ve been growing, learning, and having fun, but there have been a few disappointments, too. First, a family member’s allergies, then an older dog didn’t want me around, and now my current family is going far away. What’s a people-loving dog like me to do? Put my best paw forward, of course. My former people said I was good with children, housetrained, liked playing with a ball, and understood the words “sit,” “lay down,” and “go outside.” I’m a big, active puppy who loves to give and receive attention, and really wants to belong to someone. How about we meet real soon and find out if we could be a happy family together forever.
