It’s true what they say — blondes really DO have more fun! And that’s what you’ll have when you take me home! An older couple adopted me as an 8-week-old puppy, but as those things go, I got to be a bit too much for them to handle — especially since my dad had some health problems. I lived with an older dog and two cats, and we all got along fine, so I’m sure I’d love to have another doggie friend to romp with. I’m a small young heeler mix and all I need to make my life complete is someone who has just a few months of consistent training to turn me into “Patty Perfect.” I know I’ve got the smarts if you have the time!

I’m a Corgi/terrier gentleman (with emphasis on “gentle”!) who, after living with my family for ten years, has lost his home. They are moving to a place that doesn’t allow pets (that should be against the law!), so it’s a good thing TALGV was here or I’d REALLY be homeless! My people said that a while back there were other dogs and two kids in the house, but lately it’s been just me and my older mom and dad. They said that I’m perfectly housebroken, love to play tug of war, fetch, will run around for hours, and then want to sit with you and get lots of petting. Oh, and since I’m 11 years old now, I qualify for TALGV’s “vet care for life” program, so what’s stopping you from making me your own?

When I arrived at TALGV, I was one sick puppy because I’d been living outside with lots of other animals and hadn’t gotten the nourishment or care I needed. After I got here, I received lots of attention and treatment to make up for it and soon turned into a bouncing baby boy. It didn’t take long for me to find a home, but the single woman who adopted me discovered that “puppy” was more than she had time for, so she felt I needed a place where there was LOTS more activity (and maybe another dog to play with). I’m a delightful young, light-colored brindle terrier/shepherd mix (with the most distinctive and soft coat!), and I’m full of all the pep, curiosity, and joy that teenagers are known for. My mom said that I’m playful, great with other dogs and kids, don’t shed or bark, so you could say I’m the “total package”!

Rafferty

Hi… my name is Rafferty.

I was adopted on June 30, 2014.

There are lots of interesting places between Esperanza Boulevard and Duval Mine Road, but I was too close to Interstate 19 to be able to check them out before a lovely lady picked me up and saved me from anything bad happening. Where I came from is a mystery, but in the short time she had me, she said that I had a sweet disposition and the volunteers here seem to agree. Although I can be a bit shy on first meeting you, I warm up to people really quickly. I’ve had a run all to myself for a while, so they’re still working on finding out my “social skills” with other dogs, but I’m doing pretty well walking on leash so I’m sure all my other qualities will become evident in no time. I’m an interesting young Boxer/terrier mix with black/tan/brindle coloring, so come meet me and see how terrific I am for yourself!
