After mom passed away, we four cats were too much for dad to care for. We all came to The Animal League hoping for a new beginning. I quickly found the top perch on a cat tree and from there I can survey my new space. The volunteers come around to pet me and I crave their attention, rolling over to show my appreciation. I’m a big boy with a handsome tabby and white coat. My eyes have a mysterious green tint. I’m looking to start the next chapter in my life with someone who can shower me with love and chin scratches. Ever heard the expression “turnkey?” It’s the perfect description for me. Don’t worry about me needing work—I already know how to ask to go outside when I need to, walk like a lady on a leash, and ride well in the car. I love to be loved, but I’m not a needy girl, and I’m happy sleeping on my bed next to yours. (I mean, if you’ll share the couch, I’ll probably enjoy that, too, and my compact size means I won’t take up much room.) Did you know that the word Papillon is French for “butterfly”? That’s where my breed gets its name, and you can see it perfectly embodied in my gorgeous butterfly-shaped ears AND the fact that I’m quite the social butterfly once I get to know you. I’m a handsome, alert, intelligent guy with a plumed tail, silky coat, and a zest for life. I love knowing what is going on around me, and I love to be at your feet or in your lap to make sure I’m privy to the latest gossip. I walk well on a leash and arrived at TALGV with a Chihuahua buddy, so I am probably okay with other dogs. All my life I lived with a woman and two other felines. My human said I was very loving and followed her around and cuddled with her at night. My penchant for scratching things is evident when I’m dismayed. I’m particular about a quiet location for my litter box. I prefer dry kibble to canned food. I think all strings are toys. When a new baby joined my family, the home wasn’t big enough for both of us. Mom and dad said I wasn’t too good with young children, but I’m great with adults as a lap cat.
