A litter of 6 pups is where I came from. My 2 brothers, 3 sisters, and mom were all relinquished because 7 was too many for our previous owner. We pups were only a couple months old, and we were shy at first, but became curious enough to develop our social side with many volunteers. At The Animal League we soon learned how to walk on leash plus other important dog lessons, but further training with you will be a big help. If you are looking for a loveable lab-mix puppy to be by your side for a long time, come by to see me.

Who knew that fish tanks weren’t interactive cat TVs? I had a great home for three weeks, but my enthusiasm for getting to know the fish almost resulted in disaster, so I’m back again. My first mom (who had bad allergies) gave me high marks in everything on the personality questionnaire, so whatever your heart’s desire, I’ve got it covered! I love humans (dogs not so much – well, it was a Great Dane that was pretty intimidating), and I’m gentle with kids, mischievous (“keep your cupboards closed as he’ll eat anything”), am a snuggler, and don’t scratch things. I’m a people-, play-, and life-loving boy who’ll wrap my paws around your heart and never let go!

When you hear my name, you may think of truffle chocolates. My short chocolate coat is beautiful, but even more captivating are my handsome amber eyes that speak without barks. I was found at a construction site and have skills that make me a good companion. I am good on a leash for many walks with you. I am a cooperative quick learner who will benefit from training by you! Since I am only one year old, I do get curious. I am also quite calm and friendly in a pleasingly gentle way and am always up for cuddle times. You’ve heard the phrase “round Robin Hood’s barn,” meaning to take a circuitous route to get somewhere, and boy that sure applies to my journey to TALGV! A few years ago, when I was thought to be feral (I’m not, quite the opposite!), I was trapped, neutered, ear-tagged, and plunked outside again. Then someone took me in and I had a home, but after a while, it was zap, back outside to fend for myself again. Happily, I was rescued once more, and am here safe now, checking out the competition (there’s lots) and hoping I’ll be the one to catch your eye! You’ve got to be here for me to do that, so get moving!

I’m an 8-year-old hound dog who’s got a cowboy name and a creampuff heart! See the pictures of me with my head resting on somebody’s arm or lap? I don’t deny my lovin’ ways! I’m not partial to small dogs, but I once lived with 6 dogs of all kinds. I’ve never been around kids, but I make friends with big people real easy, especially the dog-savvy ones. Pet me, and I melt like butter in a fry pan. Yep, I’m pretty laid back, except for two things that get me riled. I don’t take kindly to anybody or anything comin’ near my food. And if I have a pain somewhere, just don’t go touchin’ it. Truth is, I’d like to sit by your side, put my paws up, and feel grateful to be home.

I might be shy when we first meet, but don’t doubt my sweet and gentle personality. I had a rough beginning in life, but after I met my mom (who moved to an assisted living facility), she transformed me into a real “mama’s girl,” and all the love she showered on me made the bad memories disappear. At almost 11 years old (and with vet support for life), I’m “well aged” like fine wine, and looking forward to my golden years. I’m not fond of car rides, but I’m great on a leash, love long walks (they’ll help me shed a few pounds, too!), so won’t you be the second mom I fall in love with?

I am an interesting mix, which is probably the first thing that made you curious about me. I’m a Tug (Terrier/Pug mix). I really love people and used to enjoy playing with kids 5 and 11 years old; I am always gentle and tolerant with them. I did get along with another dog in my previous home and have played nicely with dogs of all sizes. My previous owner decided to bring me to TALGV since she didn’t have enough time for me. Occasionally, I did some exploring in my old neighborhood, so I need a fence high enough that my little legs cannot jump over it. I really enjoy car rides and seeing new things, so stop by and pick me up and take me on your adventures; I am more than ready to go!
