FeLV Positive – Comes with Free Vet Care for Life

I am currently in foster care to get some R&R. These are a few of the things I’ve discovered during my foster:

  • I love being around people and I love warm laps! It may take a few days to come out of my shell but when I do, look out!
  • I am without a tail but that doesn’t hinder my mobility! I love to be brushed and I’m extremely handsome, if I do say so myself!
  • I like naps in the sun and I have a very loud purr motor!
  • I love my scratch “wave” and don’t scratch the furniture! I know how to use my litter box whether covered or not!
  • I will tolerate a friendly dog (eventually) and when I do, we will share furniture!
  • Meep! Is my favorite vocalization and I will gladly follow my person for food! I am food motivated and will “Meep” until fed!
  • I am healthy but am FeLV positive, therefore, I have Vet Care Support for Life!

Hi… my name is Sophie,

Comes with Free Vet Care for Life

I’m a senior dog, one who’s been called “spunky” more than once, and that’s a good thing when you’re in my paws. You see, my person died recently, and after a brief stay with a hospice nurse (her dog and I didn’t see eye to eye), I came here to find a new home and, most importantly, a new someone to love. Born in June 2005, (I come with FREE Vet Care for Life!), I’ve learned a lot along the way. I’m leash-trained, use a doggie door, and know the fun of playing with toys. I’ve been called gentle and tolerant with small children, very calm when alone, and sweet company for my person. So shall we meet? If we find each adorable—I’m willing if you are—we could be very happy together.

Don’t let anyone tell you that being toothless is a hindrance to eating! And of course there’s a positive – I’ll never have to worry about dental issues again! My mom’s health issues precluded her keeping me, but she said that although independent, I love “making biscuits” in your lap, enjoy scratching posts and cat towers, and will happily toss a small toy in the air for your (and my!) amusement. Since I’m FIV-positive, I have free vet care and need to be your “only child” (or live with another FIV-positive cat), but with my silky coat and winning ways, I know that your life will be a whole lot more exciting once I’m in it!

Hi… my name is Stedman,

Adopted 9-13-19

I’ll bet there are many pets who shudder when they hear that their people have “health issues,” ‘cause that usually means a big change is coming in their lives! Well, that’s what happened to me, but mom left lots of information about my personality: I’m playful with feathery wands, catnip-sprayed toys and bouncy “there’s-a-treat-hidden-inside” games. I’m not a lap cat, but am affectionate and like to sit NEXT to you; I “tolerate” small dogs, but don’t like other cats; I’m not a picky eater; and I’d like to sleep with (not on!) you. At about 18 months old, there’s plenty more to learn (and enjoy!) about me, so won’t you give me a chance?

PS My baby photo is posted at the end of the gallery.

Hi… my name is Chester (aka Walt Whitman),

Adopted with Diamond 7-19-19

So let’s be honest. Here’s what mom said about me: “Strengths: independent, litter-box trained, sleeps a lot, gets along with dogs. Challenges: hates being held, meows for attention in the middle of the night, nips your hand when he’s done letting you pet or brush him. Other: really likes being brushed on his back and cheeks, but will let you know when he’s had enough.” In other words, the operative word is “independent!” I lived (and happily slept!) with mom and dad for eight years, but both have really severe health problems now, so I’m hoping there’s someone right around the corner who’ll understand my often-typical feline “idiosyncrasies” and give me another chance in a loving home.

PS The last photo in the gallery shows me as a youngster!

Hi… my name is Cher,

Adopted 4-21-19

I’ve been told I have an elegant appearance—sparkling eyes, gorgeous coat—and that’s a very nice introduction. But I’m hoping you’ll want to know more. For instance, my former people didn’t want to give me up (after 2-1/2 years together), but there were human health issues involved. They praised me for being well behaved and easy going, housetrained, leash-trained, and responsive to commands like sit, come and stay. Of course, all that’s good, too, but again, there’s more. I can be a charming and loving companion, one who thrives on giving and receiving attention. Guess you could say I’m lively but sensitive, too—definitely happiest in the role of companion. So now I’m watching and waiting, hoping that you’ll give me a chance to add my own kind of canine love to your life!

PS Those are my baby pictures at end of the gallery.

Hi… my name is Satin,

Adopted 4-10-19

One touch and you’ll see how easy it was to decide on what my name should be! Soft, smooth, and glossy to pet; petite, affectionate, and charming to know! After hanging around the fire station in Desert Hills for a few days, the neighbors decided my safety was becoming a real concern so they brought me here (thank you!). At about a year old, I still hadn’t been spayed (I am now – thank you again!), so who knows my backstory? I adore petting, will climb into your lap for even more love (especially if you’re on the floor!), and just generally relish getting attention. If you’ll let me have that forever, I’ll be in heaven!

Hi… my name is Stash,

Adopted with Sammie 12-8-19

My mom said I can be skittish at first and take a little time to warm up, but once I do, I simply love attention (but not being picked up!), treats, fishing pole toys, and to have my belly rubbed. At heart, I’m a sweet boy who loved my brother (but not female cats). It was those dreaded “landlord issues” that caused us to lose our home, but we were one big happy family once with three kids, and an American bulldog (so maybe things were a smidge too “active!”). I’m a handsome grey and white tabby boy, about 2½ years old, and I’m just sitting here waiting for YOU to appear to take me home!
