Somehow at my time of life I found myself out on the streets. A nice person discovered me hiding under her porch, venturing out to search for food. Not easy when your vision isn’t good, and mine isn’t. And I’m missing some teeth, so soft food is really what I need. I’m pretty sedate here at The Animal League, allowing petting, brushing and scratching. I’m just glad to be safe and get regular meals. Who’s a silly boy? I am! I am a happy-go-lucky goofball who loves people, loves playing, and loves water. I was found with my siblings and, even though we had been through a lot, we impressed everyone with the remarkably sunny dispositions we maintain. I’m a little Retriever (Golden, maybe?), and a little something else, but I guarantee I’m 100% good boy. I’m in school right now and I’m learning sit, lay down, and how to walk nicely on a leash. At a distinguished 8 years of age, I am a proper Heeler mix with impeccable leash manners and a gentle soul. Walks? Divine. Conversation? Delightful. Recently, I’ve completed the procedure that renders one a “responsible canine,” and the volunteers say I’m quite ready to mingle in Play Group—how festive! I enjoy the simple pleasures: companionship, a good breeze, and a quiet spot to observe the world.
