Hi… my name is Benji,

Adopted 5-12-20

Once upon a time, I was rescued from a big highway, and I’ve been a lively, active guy ever since. I’m happily entertained with squeaky toys and balls, but have been hesitant around strangers, and need time to get acquainted and trust new people. On the other hand, I positively thrived in the foster home environment. Foster mom reported I learned how to interact with two other dogs, rode beautifully in the car, stayed off her furniture, and was housetrained. I didn’t even try to steal the remote! Friends say I’m smart, energetic, and have pleased the patient, understanding people who care about me. Will you let me make you a proud dog parent?

Hi… my name is Samra,

Adopted 5-26-18

You say you’re looking for a lap cat? Well, be careful what you wish for, ‘cause if you adopt me, you may never see yours again! Now that’s not to say that I don’t do other “stuff,” like rolling on the floor for belly rubs, following you around the house, and engaging in the enchanting stuff kittens do (at a year old, that’s what I still am!), but bottom line is I just want to be with you! I arrived here with my feline friends from a shelter that was closing, and although it was a long trip, we’ve all settled in and are ready to move on to real homes for the first time in our lives. I hope you’ll be the one to give me mine!

Hi… my name is Elijah Blue,

Adopted 10-27-18

Change is really hard for some cats. For all of my 6 years, I’ve lived happily with my mom and another cat and we enjoyed the laid-back pace of a peaceful life. I loved to play with laser lights and toys, and pretty much was happy as the proverbial clam. When mom had to start using a walker, though, I started getting underfoot – and you know how that can end up – so she decided for her safety (and mine!), I needed to find a new home. I’m still trying hard to adjust to a strange environment, so I’m a “work in progress,” but if you keep an eye on me, you might just find the completed project will be worth the wait!

Hi… my name is Pedro,

Adopted 6-4-18

I might be too shy to tell you this when first we meet, but I’m a lap dog—a quiet little guy who’s really happy to cuddle up with you any time. For the past 2-1/2 years, I’ve been lovingly cared for, but now my person needs to go to an assisted living facility and so I’m here on my own, torn between being pretty bashful and really wanting to meet a kind person who likes little dogs—maybe me especially. I’m a well-behaved, loving, 4-1/2-year-old Chihuahua male with a brindle coat and big brown eyes, 11 pounds (could lose a few), leash-trained and housebroken. I seldom bark, but if you’re my forever person, I’ll always let you know how much you mean to me. May we please start our contented, happy-together life today?

Hi… my name is Lizzie,

Adopted 6-27-18

Comes with Free Vet Care for Life

I was adopted from TALGV 8-1/2 years ago (when I was 3), and the only reason I’m back is because my beloved person died. I like to think she’d be pleased with the nice things people say about me here—that I’m very friendly, lovable, and “seem younger than my stated age.” Even on my intake exam—temperature-taking and everything—the medical folks said I was cheerful, totally cooperative, and an “absolutely wonderful dog.” Being an 11-1/2-year-old Shepherd/Doberman mix female, (who comes with Free Vet Care for Life!), I’ve learned some important things, like how to walk on a leash, “ask” to go outside, and, best of all, how to appreciate and love my person with my whole heart. So here’s my big question: May I please have a forever place in your heart?

Hi… my name is Savannah,

Comes with Free Vet Care for Life

Even though I lived with other cats all my life, I’ve decided that I want to be your “one and only” in the feline department! Despite what you might have heard about standoffish “tortitude,” I can be loving and affectionate when it’s just you and me. After mom went into a nursing home my life was turned upside down, but if you sit and spend some time with me you’ll see how much attention and petting I really crave. I’m a 15-year old lady who’s eligible for free vet care for life, so it sure would be grand if you’d take me home and let me get back to the important business of being your constant companion.

Hi… my name is Teddy,

Adopted 5-18-18

There were twelve of us—6 young dogs and 6 newborn puppies—left in an abandoned house without food or water in triple-digit heat. Then a door opened. A woman had heard us. She was our first hero, and there would be many more. Indeed, we were in such dire straits that the rescue activity at TALGV by so many people—busy with fluids, cooling, nourishment, whatever we needed—is a bit of a blur. What I know for sure is that our lives were saved that day. Now we each have a future—a chance to thrive, play, give and receive love. I’m a small Poodle mix male, blonde, 9-1/2 pounds, and I’m sure you understand why I’m so ready for a carefree, fun, happy life in a comfy, loving home with you!   (bio needs update)
