Adopted 4-20-18

BELLA is a laid-back, friendly, and social 12-year-old Staffie mix that needs a new home because owner was recently in a serious accident and no longer is able to care for her. She weighs about 48 pounds, is spayed, and her shots are up to date. She is fully house broken, will use doggie door if available, is leash trained and enjoys short walks. Bella is well behaved, rarely barks, and gets along with other dogs and children. Cats are unknown.

There is no adoption fee for this special girl. If you would welcome Bella into a loving home, please call Dottie between 8 AM and 8 PM at 339-237-2790.

Hi… my name is Niño,

Adopted with Gorda 5-7-18

Sometimes people think cats don’t need a lot of attention, but I’m here to tell you that my sister, Gorda, and I thrive on it! When our primary “caregiver” went off to college, there wasn’t enough time for us in addition to all the kids and the other cats in the house, so we’d really like a new place to call our own. My people said that I love being petted and hugged, like feather and laser toys, and am extremely warm and loving (oh, and I also really dig avocado!). My sister and I have always been together, so if you’d like a matched pair, it would be wonderful if you’d take us both. But if not, I’ll be happy to have your lap all to myself!

Tiz

Hi… my name is Tiz,

Adopted 4-15-18

I shared wonderful times with my special person, but when she went to hospice care, I came back here. (She adopted me 4 years ago.) Our life was quiet, just the two of us, and we enjoyed daily walks, which I especially loved in wide-open spaces although neighborhood strolls are fine, too. Beautiful on a leash, I admit to a playful streak—love my hedgehog, other squeaky toys and balls—and while I deeply feel that one-to-one connection with my person, I like it when other people visit, too. “A real love,” they call me; “so sweet.” An American Bulldog mix female, housebroken, 64 pounds, I’m now 12 years old and come with Free Vet Care for Life, along with a dear heart that will be all yours if you will love me, too.

Hi… my name is Precious,

Adopted 5-31-18

Here’s my dad’s plea: “Please, please find Precious a caring home without dogs or other cats. She needs a VERY low key home with not much noise. She is a very good 6-year-old girl and will love you if you just give her a chance.” When my dad had to move and begin travelling a lot he made the heartbreaking decision to relinquish my housemate, Spaz, and me because it would have been awfully hard on us. Although I lived with Spaz all my life, I really did prefer the company of my dad and sat in his lap and slept with him all the time. He said I’m shy but very loving and if you take the time to let me trust you, I’ll be your best (and very beautiful!) friend.

Hi… my name is Stumpy,

Adopted 5-20-18

Comes with FREE Vet Care for Life

Yep, you’re right – I got my name because I don’t have a tail! They’re not sure whether I’m part Manx or not, but no matter what’s “going on” in my genes, you’ll find that I’m one very sweet, loving, and affectionate gentleman (after I get over my initial shyness). Despite my “advanced” age, mom said I still love playing with toys and string thingies, and adored spending my evenings on her lap watching TV and sleeping with her. She moved to Germany and couldn’t take my friend, Dixie, and me with her, so we’re here hoping we can stay together in new digs (although I guess we’d fare pretty well on our own, too). I’m a 14-year-old (with free vet care) who’d like to brighten your life one day at a time!

Hi… my name is Dixie,

Adopted 5-13-18

OK, I’ve gotta be honest and say I never met a food morsel I didn’t like, so that’s undoubtedly why I’m, uh, “pleasingly plump!” But just like humans, all you need to do is monitor my intake (yes, calories DO count!), and I’ll slim down in no time. My mom moved to Germany and couldn’t take my friend, Stumpy, and me with her, so we’re here hoping we can stay together in new digs (although I guess we’d fare pretty well on our own, too). Mom said although I’m independent and sometimes shy, I’m very “well behaved,” like to sit on the couch and watch TV with her, and then curl up with her in bed. I don’t do well with dogs or “strange” cats, but if it’s just us, life will be totally grand!

Hi… my name is Smudge,

Adopted 4-20-18

What is it with some humans? I know the majority of them are really great, caring creatures, but a few of them, well, I think they were WAY at the back of the line when compassion was handed out! The people who owned my two canine friends and me moved away at the beginning of winter last year and just left all of us to fend for ourselves. Luckily there were neighbors that fed us now and then, but life was pretty touch and go most of the time, so I’m SO glad I’m finally here now. I’m an affection-craving, 5-year-old Russian Blue mix boy who will be the most grateful companion ever when you give me my own, never-have-to-leave home. I’ll bet yours would be perfect!

Hi… my name is Montes,

Adopted 5-14-18

Sometimes sad things happen to good dogs. Take me, for instance (and I really hope you do!). I was abandoned at a local store. Then, when I was first examined here, I cowered the way dogs do when someone has hurt them. But you know what? I can erase all that to make room for all my happy days ahead. I’m really sure those good times are coming because I’m such a good dog—already close to leash-trained (just remind me to heel), not much of a barker, a fast learner, and a sweet boy who will always appreciate your kindness and affection. I’m 1-1/2 years old, 55 pounds, and if you’ll be my hero—the one who gives me a chance at a loving, happy home—I’ll give you my whole heart forever.

Hi… my name is Bella Ann,

Adopted 4-11-18

“Sweetness on four legs,” my friends call me, enjoying my happy wiggle, doggie smile and gentle manner. They understand that for me, being brought to this safe place with its kind people feels like a sort of miracle. I’d known much harder times, having been abandoned as a very young dog, left chained in a yard. Fortunately, a neighbor took care of me for a while, noted I was good with kids, but then she moved and couldn’t take me. That’s when I came here, and I was grateful from the get-go! Medical attention came first, along with routine exercise, and now training class (I’m good on a leash). I’m a 1-year-old, tan and white, adorable female, and I’ll be sweet on you forever. Isn’t that the perfect reason to make me yours today!
