Animal League News

Hi… my name is Bang,

Adopted with Borger 7-14-25

I’ll admit that I need a “cat-ittude adjustment” since my behavior is rather erratic. What do you expect from a gal named Bang? I am mama to the Loud Litter. My kittens are friendly so there’s hope for me. Because they are doing well on their own, I’m ready to find my own home. What could you provide? I need calm human(s) to understand I need time to adjust to living in a home. As a stray, I had to fend for myself, so having people care for me is something new. I’m beginning to like it. I need your patience to blossom into a friendly personality. Perhaps a new name would help? What do you say?

Hi… my name is Borger,

Adopted with Bang 7-14-25

When my owner could no longer keep me, I eventually came to The Animal League. Very little information about my past came with me, so I have a little mystery to go along with my sleek black coat and luminous eyes. I’ve been performing my “shy” act, staying up on a high perch and avoiding human interaction. Since I did live in a home before, I think I could remember how to perform a “friendly” act with a little encouragement. I’m still young and impressionable. Would you be the person to give me that encouragement? Please come meet me and give me a chance.

Hi… my name is Logan,

Adopted 4-26-25

What can I say? I’m a stray who came from another shelter to The Animal League. I’m happy to be in a safe place, but I’m not expressing that in my body language. I’m shy and somewhat discombobulated by the turn of events that brought me here. The kind volunteers assure me that there is a family who would like me to be their pet. And with my sleek, black coat and young age I’m very desirable. (You know that black goes with any décor!) I may not be a kitten anymore, but I have years of playtime and companionship in me! So please come meet me. I’m waiting for you.

Hi… my name is Hugh Jackman,

Adopted 8-1-25

A kind person brought me into another shelter a few days before I came to The Animal League. You could say I’ve been around the world! It sure feels like it. And how about my name? Whoever named me liked the Australian actor, I’d say! I’m a handsome lad waiting for my new family and home. I’m anticipating many years of playtime, love and companionship. Oh, yes, and brushing my lustrous fur coat! Currently, I’m observing life from inside my dome bed. I’m learning to appreciate being held on a volunteer’s lap. Slowly with patience, you could be my new human(s) who would love me forever. I’m waiting for you!

Hi… my name is Commander Tom,

Adopted 7-14-25

I just love my name! I’m a high energy cat! I’m known as a Turkish Angora; we are known for our elegant appearance, silky long coats, and playful, intelligent personalities. That’s me to a T! (That’s for Tom!) I REALLY like the chin scratches and cuddling the volunteers are giving me! I’m anxious to build a strong bond with my new family. If you have a household that’s full of activities, I’d fit right in!  I’m young so I’ve got plenty of play and pizzazz to entertain you for years to come. I might even learn to do some tricks if you’ll teach me. I love playful antics. I can’t wait to meet you!

Hi… my name is Burbank,

Adopted 4-17-25

I was rescued from a home with too many other animals, and I’m getting used to being in a somewhat calmer environment. At first it was confusing but I’m enjoying the attention of volunteers who pet and brush me. I’m venturing around my room and trying out different perches, and I also like the soft cubbies. I get along fine with my roommates here.  y coat is a beautiful multi-colored tortoiseshell. If you have room in your heart and home to give me a second chance, I am available now! Please come and meet me and let’s get the ball rolling.

Box

Hi… my name is Box,

Adopted 6-23-25

Such a petite girl I am with such an unfeminine name! I’m looking to change it. When you meet me, we can discuss that. You may look for me on my high perch, curled up napping. (My way of coping with the changes in my young life.) Since my family couldn’t keep me any longer, they brought me to the shelter. That was the right thing to do, but I miss them and my home. I’m picturing my new human(s) cuddling and caring for me, being the delight of the household. Is that your home? Remember: according to George Eliot, “Animals are such agreeable friends.”  I surely would like to be your bestie!

Hi… my name is Thomas,

Adopted 3-10-25

Well, mom was moving and couldn’t take me—why not, I ask? I’m a charming boy that likes to greet people when they come into the room. I’m handsome, too! I have Lynx Point blue eyes and a grey and white coat. You can pick me up easily and I’ll stay in your lap until you kick me out. I’ve lived with dogs and other cats and I like to sleep on a cat tower when I’m not on your lap. What’s not to like? Why don’t you come by and meet me and let’s see what we can work out. I’m ready to make your acquaintance.
