Hi… my name is Rocket,

Adopted September 6, 2014

Howdy, mate! I am an Aussie mix—Australian Shepherd, that is—but I’m not from the land down under. Can’t say exactly where I’m from; my finders said I just showed up at their house one morning and never left. They were ever so nice, and although they couldn’t keep me, they said lots of good things about me. Loving, gentle, and loyal were words they used to describe me. I got along just fine with their animals and with the two children (ages 5 and 11). Just a “good dog,” they said. Well, I try to be a good friend so I can have good friends! I’m 1 year old, brindle and white, and 51 pounds. Please come for a visit and let show you what a great mate I can be.

Hi… my name is Curtis,

Adopted December 14, 2015

When I was lost, I tried to find a home.   A fellow opened his front door and there I was, wearing my friendliest face. He helped by bringing me to TALGV, where the volunteers now sing my praises. They say I’m an exceptionally smart, easy-going guy, and, like most Labs, a great combination of eager to play and eager to please. I love playing fetch—not only will I bring the ball back, I’ll drop it for a return toss and leave it when told—and my response to “sit” or “down” is instantaneous. You could probably teach me even more! I’m a happy, good-looking black Lab with white markings, and I am so ready for my forever home. Please let it be with you!

Hi… my name is Paul,

Adopted November 17, 2015

Despite my current anxiety about my life’s changes (my mom passed away recently), her daughter said that although I’m a bit shy with people at first, once I get to know you, I’m a real sweetheart and a love. Like many of my breed I can be a smidge independent, too! I’ve been living with my siblings, Lucy and Carlos, and adore them mightily, so staying with one or both of them would be SO nice (and make our transition into a new home a lot easier!). I’m a gorgeous flame point Siamese mix who loved sleeping with my mom at night, so if you’re looking for a bed partner of the feline kind to purr sweet nothings in your ear, I’m your guy!

Hi… my name is Bitsy,

Adopted September 16, 2015

Bitsy comes with Free Vet Care for Life.

What would it take for you to give up a companion you’d had for 15 years? Sadly, all it took in my case was a “special deal” (I sure hope it was a good one!) on an apartment in an independent living facility that has a no-pet policy on upper floors. With what everyone knows about the beneficial effect on seniors (not to mention their pets!) of staying together as long as possible, you’d think that those policies would disappear. Well, that’s my short sad story, but the good part is that I’m healthy as can be (but still come with Free Vet Care for Life), gentle, sweet, and although at times shy (especially now!), I’m a peaceful spirit who’s ready made for a quiet home and a welcoming lap.

Hi… my name is Piper.

Adopted September 19, 2015

In the distant past, I had to resort to begging hot dogs at a convenience store. Then I was adopted and that went well for a few years, until some other dogs came on the scene and we didn’t get along. Now I’m here again and I don’t mind telling you I have my hopes up for a truly forever home. I’m a 5-1/2-year-old Chow/Shepherd mix with a luxurious tan coat, you might call golden, and my triangle-shaped ears are adorable, don’t you think? I’m leash trained and well behaved off leash, too. Belly rubs and toys are among my favorite things, but my most favorite thing in the world would be a home where I’ll be loved forever. Imagine how I’ll love you back if that can be with you!

Hi… my name is Mitzi,

Adopted October 8, 2015

Mitzi comes with Free Vet Care for Life.

Not long ago, I had a happy home with people I loved, who loved me back.  We were together for 12 years.  Then my people died.  I lost them and my home.  If you think this is hard for me, you’re right. I’m trying to be brave and my TALGV friends are helping me a lot. They’ve suggested I brag on myself, so here goes:  I know the sit, stay and lay commands, I like to go on walks and play fetch, and I’m very experienced at being a sweet, loving companion, plus I come with Free Vet Care for Life.  I’m black and gray, a Mexican Hairless Chihuahua mix female, and though I’m still feeling shy, I would love to meet you.  And if you take me home with you, I promise to be the best me that I can be.

Hi… my name is Lucy,

Adopted November 27, 2015

Despite my current anxiety about my life’s changes (my mom passed away recently), her daughter said that I’m really a delightful girl who can be laid back or playful — depending on my mood. She said that I love chasing balls with bells inside, am a “very clean litterbox girl” who likes to be “neat and tidy,” and love to have “daily chats” with you. I’ve been living with my siblings, Paul and Carlos, and adore them mightily, so staying with one or both of them would be SO nice (and make our transition into a new life a lot easier!). I’m a diminutive tabby/ tortoiseshell mix who loved sleeping with my mom at night, so if you’re looking for a bed partner of the feline kind to purr sweet nothings in your ear, I’m your gal!
