Hi… my name is Duke,

Adopted by foster family 11-23-25

If you’re looking for a dog to share your active, happy life, I’m here for you! I’m a confident, curious, and, yes, sometimes goofy young hound dog who’s always ready for adventure and playtime. And if your family includes another dog, I could be good with that. I’ve lived with other dogs since I was a tiny pup. Of note, I’m now a strong guy and so the person on the other end of my leash should be strong, too. Friends say I’m also “very smart,” able to learn important good-dog lessons. The main thing I want to tell you is how much I want to be part of a family—whether that’s one person’s best friend or a houseful. If you say that can be with you, I’ll be one very happy hound!                                                                                                             (bio revised 12/10/24)

Adopted 1-18-25

CODY is a social and energetic 2-year-old, 80-pound black Retriever mix male who needs a new home. He and his littermate are not getting along now, but Cody would love a new doggy friend to play with. He is leash trained, crate trained, and house trained (asks to go out). Cody is in good health, up to date on shots and medical records are available. He has had rattlesnake avoidance training and obedience training (knows: come, wait, go to your spot, leave it, go around, off, and kennel up. He has been okay with cats with supervision; children are unknown. Cody likes to walk and enjoys truck rides… especially to get pup cups. He is an all-around good dog that would love to be your new best friend. There is no adoption fee. If you will welcome Cody into a loving home as part of your family, please call Margo any time before 8 PM at 520-310-1757.

Hi… my name is Lulu,

Adopted 4-19-25

I’m independent. I don’t like nail trims, other cats or laps. However, I DO like to eat and play with toy balls, wands and ribbons. I have a clean, gorgeous fur coat. In my previous home, I never scratched furniture but liked to nap on the armchair. At night I slept with my human. Shy with strangers, I had a “hidey-hole” in a closet. At The Animal League I’m tucked into a “cave bed.” Volunteers are speaking softly to me to coax me out of my safe place. I’ll probably always need my hiding place, but I do desire a new home with human(s) who appreciate an independent beauty who needs love. Is that you?

Hi… my name is Kisses,

Adopted 1-14-25

No wonder I was named Kisses. I’m very outgoing and sweet! I love to play with toys, and I love to be brushed. (I have a wonderful fur coat!) I seek human companionship and am happiest when I’m with my human. Sadly, when they had to move due to her husband’s health, she had to relinquish me and I couldn’t go along. She knew that I’d be well cared for at The Animal League until I found my new adopter. I’m wondering if that’s you? If you want an absolutely gorgeous friendly cat who will shower affection (and kisses?) on you, then you just must come to meet me. I’m eager to make your acquaintance.

Hi… my name is Domino,

Adopted 4-10-25

My previous life is unknown, except that I was found near some apartments. A nice person brought me here where it’s safe, but I’ve been a little shy. I hide out most of the time, but if a gentle person pays attention to me, I’ll come out to be petted and purr my appreciation. I must not be used to other cats so I keep to myself. You can see why I got my name, with just about equal parts light and dark on my coat. I’m hoping a kind person will take me to a new home where I can blossom and show my affection. Is that you?

Hi… my name is Muncie,

Adopted 8-8-25

Well, I guess I was used to “catting around” on the loose because at 3 years I was all male, if you know what I mean. Here I’ve had a little operation that has calmed me a bit but left me somewhat confused. I’m sure I’ll adjust! I have a beautiful long orange coat and like to be brushed. Some of my roommates are not to my liking so I’d really like a place of my own. Kids are probably not my cup of tea since I play a little rough. Otherwise, I’m prepared for a change. Why not come admire my handsome coat and see if we are simpatico?

Hi… my name is Blue,

Adopted 1-16-25

Color drained out of my world when my owner died. We were great companions. I was very affectionate and loved his attention. I appreciated being brushed and never scratched or bit anyone. I had a good relationship with his small dog; he knew I was in charge and let me groom him!   After my human passed, his brother tried to integrate me into his home; however, his cat was frightened of me, so here I am at The Animal League awaiting adoption. Although I was allowed outside frequently, I MUCH prefer the safe indoors! Let me play with toys I can chase and return to you. I’ll be tickled pink to be your companion!

Hi… my name is Rico,

Adopted 4-19-25

Imagine two little dogs tied to a stop sign under a piece of cardboard with the words “Free puppies.”  Heartbreaking, right? Well, I was one of those sad pups, but that was many months ago. Today, I’m glad to tell you, I’m enjoying life as a happy and playful young dog with lots of friends. On my first adoption I was too strong for my former person, but she liked me a lot. She said I was kind, loving, and well behaved with people and dogs. (Not so much with cats.) Being here gives me the chance to learn more good-dog lessons and I’m having fun with other TALGV dogs and the volunteers, but I do dream of home. If I can belong to you, I’ll be your loving, loyal, and grateful dog forever.
