Hi… my name is Scarlett,

Adopted 2-28-17

Scarlett has Free Vet Care for Life.

OK, I guess I need to go to an “anti-bullying” class ‘cause that’s what cost me my home! When my dad’s girlfriend and her cats moved in I wasn’t in a very welcoming mood, and have to admit that I did intimidate them a bit too much (hey, I was there first!), so unfortunately my housemate, Merlin, and I were the ones that had to leave. Dad said that although I can sometimes be a bit reserved, I really am very sweet at heart and love attention and snuggling. I got along with the dogs in the house, but when the little kids got “hyper,” I made myself scarce. I’m a basically quiet 7-year-old lady who just wants to love you and be loved back. That’s not much to ask, is it?

Hi… my name is London,

Adopted 1-7-17

I was part of the “city” litter of kittens that arrived at TALGV after our mother was killed by dogs in Nogales. We were truly lucky when the owner of the house rescued us and brought us here, and I was doubly lucky to have been hand-raised by a foster dad and then find a home almost immediately when I was old enough. Now life’s changed though, as my beloved mom died recently and I’m back again, hoping the third time will be a charm for me. I’m a lovely buff and white girl and just as gentle and loving as you’d expect for a gal who’s lived with an older person all her life, so why not let me be the best part of your new year?

Hi… my name is Gingersnap,

Adopted 2-8-17

Boy, some older cats sure do forget how to play with youngsters! You’d think having a playful little bugger like me around would add a little zip to their lives, but in my case, the prissy old thing that I shared the house with just wasn’t having any of it. I know it was hard for my human mom to make the decision to relinquish me, but since I’m young (and gorgeous, they say!), she felt an active family, maybe with kids, would appreciate my antics and enthusiasm for life more than a settled one. Mom said I’m a “loving kitty” who adores all kinds of toys and sitting in your lap, so if life’s been a little dull for you lately, my goal is to rectify that!

Hi… my name is Panini,

Adopted 11-30-16

I arrived at TALGV with a badly matted coat, so I was really happy to get my hair cut! I’d also faced being dropped off at a farm where I couldn’t stay permanently. (The word “dumped” was used, but that’s so harsh, it made me feel almost as uncomfortable as those miserable tangles.) At the farm, there were 3 other dogs and 3 cats, and we all got along. There were some little kids who scared me; I’d shake when they came around, but, nevertheless, the people there said I was “very loving” and “very playful.” The volunteers here add that I’m also “very dear.” Won’t you tell them that we need to meet? I’m a 7-year-old beige Shih-Tzu male, a little guy (12 pounds) who’ll bring a lot of joy to your days!

Hi… my name is Skittles,

Adopted September 23, 2016

Could I get lucky in the adoption department just one more time? My dog buddy, Eli, and I had a wonderful home with our person for 1-1/2 years, but due to her health issues, we came back to TALGV. Before my home with her, I was in a group of pups found in a hole off the highway! Today, I’m still young, a beautiful Catahoula Leopard mix female, whose coat is black and very light brown. I’m leash trained and already know “stay” and “sit,” and I’m sure I could learn lots more if you want to teach me. If you take me home, I’ll do my best every day to make you glad you did. How about we meet and see if the perfect place for me is with you!

Ben

Hi… my name is Ben,

Adopted July 11, 2016

When my person suddenly had her own medical issues and couldn’t keep me anymore, I became a TALGV dog with a great foster mom. She calls me feisty and fun, a happy dog with an outgoing personality and lots of confidence. I love toys and people (a great combination!) and currently live peacefully with a shepherd mix dog and a cat (who rubs against me sometimes—what’s that about?) My big vocabulary includes hums, whines and yips—especially during my bath, which I love! And about those baths—I have allergies and require special food, medicine and shampoo; Foster Mom can explain more. She’s also had me on a diet and I’m looking good at 24 pounds! I’m a 3-1/2-year-old Wire Fox Terrier who’d love to be your special guy. Could we meet today?

Hi… my name is Jack,

Adopted June 9, 2016

Have you ever been completely happy for someone else, but a little sad for yourself at the same time? That’s what I’m feeling because my dog friend Jill was adopted and I’m still looking for my new home. We were lost together. For one week we stayed in a neighborhood where a kind lady gave us food and water, and then she brought us here. Jill found her new people quickly—no surprise since we’re both adorable—and now I’m hoping it’s my turn! I’m just 2 years old and a little guy; at 8-1/2 pounds, I’m a great size for playing and cuddling, fun and quiet times. Won’t you please take me home today and introduce me to the good life—the happy life we can share for a long time to come!
