Hi… my name is Blue,

Adopted 10-3-17

When I first came here, I didn’t know whether to cower in the corner or make a flying leap into the first friendly lap I saw. So I did a bit of both. I’m just an 8-month-old Heeler male, 35 pounds, accustomed to living with a family, including kids ages 3, 3 and 8. (Dad said I was good with the kids, even slept with them, but sometimes played rough—need some puppy education on how to always play nice.) Unfortunately, my family moved to a new apartment where I couldn’t go, so I need a new family—one wonderful person or more! I’m playful, still a little fearful and so not always friendly with new people, but very eager to love, learn, and live happily ever after. Could that please be with you?

Hi… my name is Robby,

Adopted 3-2-18

Robby has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

I’m such a happy, always-glad-to-see-you kind of guy that you may be pleasantly surprised by my seriously excellent credentials. For instance, I’ve earned my Canine Good Citizen certificate for an outstanding performance in the behavior department. I know “sit,” “stay,” and “down,” how to behave well at home and in public, and I’m leash trained. Asked to list my strengths, my former owner started with “he minds.” Now, the fun stuff: I play ball, like car rides, and my former family said I was great with kids. They’re moving and couldn’t take me with them, which is disappointing, but friends say my future is bright. I’m a friendly black and white 5-year-old male, currently 53 pounds, and I’m so ready to be somebody’s best buddy forever that all you need to add is love.

Hi… my name is Boom Boom,

Adopted with Firecracker 8-17-17

My happy little life had a dramatic and dangerous beginning. When we were just days old, my brothers and I were part of a remarkable rescue—twelve dogs (including six newborns) found in a vacant house without food or water in triple-digit heat. Our TALGV friends worked frantically to save us and they succeeded! Of course, Mom was with us the whole time—doing what she could to keep us going—and she will always be our number one hero. When rescued, I weighed less than 1 pound. Today I’m a growing, adorable male puppy with a black coat (Mom is a Poodle mix), lots to learn (I’m already really good at the nap-and-play-whenever-you-can thing), and irresistibly cute. When I’m ready, will you give me my new beginning in a happily-ever-after home with you?

Hi… my name is Panther,

Adopted with Tomato 8-31-17

I’ll bet it’s not often that the top of your “best qualities” list is that you’re “a good hunter of flies!” Well, they also said that I’m friendly, social, and playful (I’m 4 months old – no way I’m going to be a couch potato!). I was seen being abandoned by someone who just opened a car door and pushed me out, so I’m one lucky girl that my rescuer scooped me up in time. I’m here with a whole constellation of kittens (and any one of us would be a star!), but I thought in case you were in the market for a “flycatcher,” I’d be the one you should choose!

Hi… my name is Dana,

Adopted 9-3-17

You’ve probably heard that even among dogs, hounds are known for their exceptional sense of smell. So, since I appear to be a hound dog mix, maybe I was found near a store because I could smell dog food in there! (Like most lost dogs, I was hungry.) My rescuer kept me for two weeks while trying to find my owner, and she said I was okay with cats, good in the house, and leash trained. Once here, I was shy at first, but always sweet and glad for the company of people. A 1-year-old female, I have an athletic build (49 pounds), enjoy exercise, look good in my short easy-care coat, and please everyone with my good and gentle nature. I hope I’ll please you, too—in the happy home we share forever.

Hi… my name is Bellie (aka Amidala),

Adopted by Soldier’s Best Friend 9-26-17

When I arrived here, I was like the new kid at school—shy, quiet, willing to just stand back and watch everyone else. Then a kind volunteer visited me, and brought cheese and chicken with her. Well, I know a good thing when I smell it! We became friends and now I’m showing more of the real me—sweet, loyal, and lovable. My former person (who couldn’t keep me after his move) said I was good in the house when he was gone, but “skittish” around strangers and some men. Maybe you can help me with that. I’m a beautiful 18-month-old Shepherd mix female, black, tan and white, just 47 pounds, with some things to learn, lots of fun to have, and endless love to give. Will you show me how good life can be?

Hi… my name is Bella Sue,

Adopted 9-2-17

Mom and Dad adopted me three years ago, back when I was just a pup. Since then I’ve learned some important things—how to walk on a leash, “ask” to go outside, follow commands—and recently I learned another lesson: Life can change suddenly. My dad died, and now mom is moving and can’t take care of me anymore. So I came here a little lonely and bashful, but kindness has really brightened my days. The volunteers say I’m elegant with lots of charm (sometimes they let me give them kisses), and although I’m tall (about 64 pounds), my former owner said I wasn’t a jumper, and can be good with kids. I’m a sweet and beautiful black Lab/Heeler/Greyhound mix female, who’d love to go home with you and be happy together forever.

Hi… my name is Foophus,

Adopted with Fricker 11-13-17

Foophus comes with FREE Vet Care for Life

It’s the dream of every cat to live the “Life of Riley,” but when that ends, it sometimes makes it a challenge to adapt to the changes. That’s what happened to my housemates, Kitz, Fricker, Daisy Mae, and me when my young dad died unexpectedly and there was no one to take us in. His mom said that although we’d lived “sheltered and spoiled” lives we were very nice gentle cats who were just happy spending our days with each other and our person. I’m a handsome 12-year-old black and white gentleman (who comes with Free Vet Care for Life) and although I know that I’ll never really “replace” my dad, there’s going to be a wonderful new someone who’ll let me enjoy the “good life” all over again!
