My friend, Ottis, and I lived in the same home for years, but when our human mom realized she couldn’t take care of us anymore due to her own health concerns, she showed us her love once more by letting us go to find new homes. I’m a female Dachshund—my current name might make you think otherwise, but I am a girl—7-1/2 years old, and a standout in the looks department thanks to my beautiful silver dapple coat. I am shy, but reported to be good with cats, dogs, and children in the past. So, once I warm up and feel comfortable, you’ll see how loving I can be. BLUE is a handsome 1 ½-year-old, 75-pound, Catahoula Leopard/retreiver mix with a sweet personality. He was rescued by owner who has several pets already. He is up to date on shots and has been neutered courtesy of TALGV. Currently he Is an inside/outside dog who loves to play fetch and is being obedience trained. Blue is great with kids, but please no cats or small dogs. This wonderful dog wants only to please his new family. There is no adoption fee. When my unfortunate mom had to go into a homeless shelter, it wasn’t just the calamitous change in her life that devastated her; it was losing her dogs and cats. So knowing that, I hope my friends, Thomas, Shiva, and I, can be forgiven for being at sixes and sevens for a while. Mom did say, “Don’t let their anxiety scare you, they are all very friendly and lovable, good with dogs and people, and just want forever families.” As a girl who’s lived with all kinds of critters, you can be sure that once I’ve adjusted to the upheaval in my life, going back to being the loving companion I always was, won’t take more than having a lap, a safe haven, and YOU to make my world right again!

My brother, Argo, and I were found wandering together, starving, each with evidence of having been hit with pellets. Imagine how grateful we were to the woman who took us in, and how happy she was to discover that despite our past troubles, we are both great dogs. With 7 animals already, she couldn’t keep us, and so our journey brought us to TALGV. I’m a 2-year-old Boxer mix female, black and tan, about 44 pounds. I’m timid, I think you can understand why, but also very friendly in my own way. Since I’m eager to be your friend, you could have fun teaching me what I need to know to be even better.
