Animal League News

Hi… my name is Athos,

Adopted 10-21-23

Once upon a time, three young dogs were found all alone in a desert wash. I was one of those dogs, the 18-month-old male, and even I can’t tell you how we got there. Let’s just say we were lost but lucky because a kind person found us and brought us here. The two females in our trio already have been adopted, and I admit to feeling lonely right now.  Oh, I have lots of new TALGV friends. We go on walks, they feed me, keep me company, and are patiently helping me become more confident. I’m a 24-pound Heeler with a beautiful black coat and speckled paws, quietly dreaming of life as a happy, carefree dog in a wonderful place called home. Could you be the one to make my dream come true?

SOCKS is a friendly and social 9-year-old, 10-pound, Chihuahua male who needs a new home. His family will be moving and can’t take him. He is great with all kids, cats, and other dogs of all sizes. He is crate trained, house trained, and uses a doggy door to go out. Socks is in good health, spayed, and is up to date on shots. He knows commands “no,” “outside,” and “come.” He loves to run and play, lots of snuggles and attention.

There is no adoption fee. If you will welcome sweet Socks into a loving home as part of your family, please call Kayla any time at 520-240-4291.

Hi… my name is Tatum,

Adopted 10-20-23

Boy am I glad I was found and brought to The Animal League!  Another cat (maybe my mom) and I were found hiding in some pallets. We were rounded up and now we’re sleeping in safety and getting regular meals. What a deal! All I need now is my own home. So far I’ve been pretty laid back about it all, and I’ve been lounging around in the cat beds here. I think I still have lots of kitten energy hiding somewhere though. My coat is a pretty black and white. How about coming over to check me out? Now that I’ve been “brought in from the cold” I don’t ever want to go back!

Hi… my name is Midnight,

Adopted 8-22-24

When my owner went into a retirement home and couldn’t take me, I was brought to The Animal League. I’m having a little trouble adjusting to all the other animals and my new situation. At first, I stayed up high away from all that was unfamiliar, and now I often hide out in a corner behind a cat tree. I’m very shy, but the volunteers are able to approach me slowly. I like to be petted and brushed. What I really need is a quiet home where I can get my bearings and become a lovable companion. Please come and meet me. I have lots of love to give!

Hi… my name is Cowboy,

Adopted 10-24-23

My mom is moving to Europe and she wanted to make sure I’d find the perfect new home. I’m a sweet, young, male Greyhound/Lab mix who’s great with other dogs and children ages 8-16 years, but not very small children. I’m somewhat cautious with new visitors and don’t know about cats! I’m very quiet and relaxed and behave well in the house. I’m crate trained and spend time there when left alone. By ringing a bell, I alert you to when I need to go out, and I can use a doggie door. I’m leash trained and know the commands “sit,” “stay,” “come,” and “shake.” I was shy when I arrived, but now I know I’m safe with friends, who are sharing their loving care…until you take me home.

Hi… my name is Gong,

Adopted 10-13-23

I came to The Animal League as a kitten along with nine other kittens known as the Musical Instruments Litter.  Once adopted, I thrived in my home with a young man. He said I was affectionate and playful. Sadly, his mom became so ill that he had to care for her full time, so he returned me to The Animal League. The shelter environment doesn’t showcase my best qualities. When you meet me, I may back away but I really do want to meet you. You can see it in my eyes! I like to play with wand toys, to eat what’s placed before me, and to be loved. Ready to meet me?
