Animal League News

Hi… my name is Whirl,

My life has been in a tailspin since I escaped. I was investigating something that looked interesting. Now I’m furious because I was so curious! It was a mouse trap, and it caught me! A caring person took me to the vet, who released me to The Animal League (so important to have a microchip!). My original owner had adopted me from The Animal League in 2024, and I lived a happy life with him and Cabasa (another cat), until he passed away. I’m recovering now after losing a few toes. I’m a little less curious, but still sweet and loving. I believe with patience I can thrive again in a safe home. Yours?

If you are considering adoption, stop in at TALGV to meet me soon. Or you may call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make an appointment. Kennel hours are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Black Swan,

Adopted 1-17-26

What’s my tail? Oh, I mean tale! I was in a carrier by a stop sign. Can you believe that someone just left me there? Did they just forget me? I don’t know what happened. I’m so glad someone found me and took me to The Animal League. The volunteers really care about us felines and daily feeding is regular! I’m a sweet, petite kitty with soft black fur. I weigh just under 6 pounds and I’ve been fixed, so I won’t have any more kittens. Also, now that I have a microchip, I’ll never be a stray again! Please come find me in my dome bed and call me yours forever!

Hi… my name is Bonnie,

Adopted 2-27-26

My caretaker passed on so they brought me to The Animal League. We were together for seven years. I’ve been here before when I was adopted in 2018. To date, I’ve lived with seniors, a couple, and children. With all the changes I’ve gone through lately, I can have a bit of “cattitude.” You may brush my luxurious black fur if I’m not feeling too shy. Just look into my beautiful golden eyes to see if I approve. I like head pets and playing with cat toys. In fact, I was described as a “good playful cat.”  I sure could use a forever home. Are you THE one for me?

Hi… my name is Walter,

Adopted 12-19-25

I’m the handsome, quiet type. Think of me as the guy at a party who hangs back, observing. While I may not make the first move, I promise I’m worth the wait. What I know for certain is how much I love other dogs! They give me courage and bring out my playful side. With people, I take more time, so the 3-day, 3-weeks, & 3-month guideline TALGV encourages will help me adjust. If you don’t mind, I’d rather skip sleeping in a crate (not a big fan) and maybe cuddle with you? I’m already house-trained, non-barking, and easy to walk on leash—I don’t react to other dogs at all. With patience and love, I’ll show you the loyal, gentle heart beneath the shyness. Looking for perfection in dog form? Ask to meet me.  Love, Walter.

Gus

Hi… my name is Gus,

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

My miniature size hides a big heart and an even bigger sense of adventure. I may only weigh a pound or two, but don’t let my size fool you. I love exploring every corner I can find, proudly waddling around with my little tongue hanging out like a badge of honor. When I’m done adventuring, my favorite place in the whole world is curled up right in your lap. I’m a world-class cuddler, a warm nap buddy, and a gentle soul who just wants to be close. I may be a small and seasoned canine citizen, but I’ve got plenty of love, charm, and curiosity left to give. If you’re looking for a tiny companion with an adorable, charming tongue and a brave spirit who comes with vet care support for life, I just might be your perfect match!

Hi… my name is Madison,

Adopted 12-23-25

Life can change so quickly. I was adopted from TALGV five years ago and lived a wonderful life with my family… until the new baby developed allergies to me and my canine brother, Maddox. My family was devastated. So here I am, starting over with as much grace as possible. I’m calm, polite, and fully house-trained. I adore gentle affection, I walk nicely, and I settle beautifully in the home. Between Maddox and me, I’m the confident one — the “we’ve got this” girl. We’re being evaluated to see if we need to stay together, but whether it’s just me or both of us, I know the right family is out there. If you’re looking for a sweet, steady companion who demonstrates quiet courage, I’d love to meet you and start my new chapter.
