Animal League News

Hi… my name is Shadow,

Adopted 6-3-23

What a beauty I am (even if I do say so myself!), and the volunteers at The Animal League will agree with me. I have sleek black fur with golden eyes that penetrate into yours. Come see my sphynx pose which I am mastering to illustrate how absolutely regal I am. I’m making a shameless plea for head rubs and chin scratches. Throw in some kitty toys like wands or cloth mice or fuzzy balls and I’m yours forever. Will you be THE one who will adopt me into my own home? I certainly would like to meet you! We could share a journey of new beginnings. What do you say? I’m waiting.

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

After living in one home my whole life, mom passed away so I am looking for a new situation. I know there is a new opportunity out there! I have lots to offer. I like to be a part of whatever is going on and will investigate your card game and computer keyboard. I love petting, scratching and brushing. And don’t let my age lead you to believe I’m too old to play with a toy. I don’t often meow, but when I do it is loud! I spent most of my life with another cat, but that was a while ago. With my senior status comes Vet Care Support for Life. Come meet me!

Hi… my name is Kiko,

Adopted 7-8-24

I belonged to a man who had to move and I couldn’t go with. Boo hoo! I came to The Animal League in a bit of a snit. I hissed and growled at everything but gradually I exited my cubby and came out of my shell. Now I will jump in your lap but petting is on my terms—I’ll let you know when I’ve had enough. If you let me decide when to come forward, I think we will get on swimmingly.  I’m somewhat possessive so it’s best if I’m an only cat. If you are willing to be patient, I feel sure we can make a go of it! Come say hello.

Hi… my name is Samuel,

Adopted 5-10-23

A couple of years ago, I was a lost dog who wandered into the yard of someone who said, “Okay, you may stay here.” I earned my keep by being gentle with young children, loyal to my person, and crate-trained (although I was living outside most of the time). But when my people moved, they couldn’t take me along. So now I’m at TALGV, once again making friends and showing what a good little guy I am. Granted, I’ve not been happy around bigger dogs in the past, but I do like people.  Calm and comfortable with the volunteers, they say I’m what humans call “truly good company.” At just over 13 pounds, I’m a 6-year-old little dog with a big heart, hoping you’ll take me home and say, “You may stay here forever.”

Hi… my name is Opal,

Adopted 12-20-23

I’m an almost 2-year-old, Staffie mix female. I’m a little timid and shy with people until I get to know them, then you’ll see what an affectionate girl I am. My roommate was happy when I returned after being in foster care. While there I slept in my crate at night (and when needed) and I asked to go out, but occasionally needed reminding. I know how to “sit,” and I walk fairly well. I’ll need someone to teach me the rest of the commands and work on my leash training. I was wondering, would YOU be interested? On a personal note, I’m still young and might benefit from additional “puppy training.” I enjoy playing fetch, chasing lizards, and snuggling on the couch with my person. Want to snuggle?

Hi… my name is Summit,

Yeah, I know, I’m super cute, right? I hear it all the time. You must know, I’m not just another pretty face; I’ve got energy and brains to match! I’m a friendly, house-trained, young girl looking for a permanent relationship with a family who understands we youngsters require daily exercise and mental stimulation in order for us to grow into well-behaved adults.  Walks or hikes with lots of sniff breaks, vigorous sessions of ‘fetch’, food puzzles, and teaching me new commands and tricks are some of the best ways to keep me from getting bored. Do you and your family like to be on the go? If so, we should meet! If you have another friendly, active dog, bring them along and let me charm my way into your heart – and home!
