Along with my feline pal, Joya, we lived with two Newfoundland dogs and our two humans. Sadly, our dad died and our mom could no longer care for us so brought us here. Although “shabby chic” usually refers to a relaxed, well-worn style of décor, it pretty much used to describe me too! When I showed up on the doorstep of a home in Sahuarita, I was skinny, dehydrated, and the personification of “raggedy Andy.” Now I’ve morphed into the gorgeous guy I was destined to be, and with your help (lots of food, love, lap time, and an indoor-only home), I promise I’ll wow you! I’ve gotta give my people credit. They had me for six years until I began fighting with my male housemate. They relinquished me to TALGV, but soon missed me so much they reclaimed me, hoping things would work out. As you can guess, things didn’t change, so now I’m dreaming of a “one cat” home (namely ME!). Mom says although I’m not the most demonstrative guy (maybe that’s because as a youngster I was dumped in a parking lot, so haven’t quite forgotten that experience), I like being with you on my terms, lying near you on a couch or bed. If you’re willing to give this handsome guy a try, I sure will give it my all!

I’m extremely intelligent and great at problem-solving – sometimes a little too good. I can open doors, figure things out quickly, and have mastered “puppy dog eyes” to extract treats from you. Like many brainy types, I come with a few quirks: kids make me anxious, I’m socially awkward outside my trusted inner circle, and I strongly dislike wind and passing vehicles (unless I’m riding in one, obviously). I need to be your one-and-only pet, as I prefer having all the attention and thrive best without other animals. My ideal home is adult-only, calm, and predictable, with limited visitors, a secure backyard, water to splash in, and humans who enjoy high-energy games of fetch that would impress most athletes. I’m housetrained, crate-trained, respectful indoors, and—because I’m a longtime resident—I come with Vet Care Support for Life.

I’ve come a long way from providing the residents in an assisted living facility with lots of love as the “house cat” by snuggling and schmoozing with them in their rooms to needing that kind of care myself. Since then, I’ve lost my sight and am on a special kidney diet, so now it’s my turn to have someone be as loving to me as I’ve been to others (and at 14 years old I have Vet Care Support for Life to help with medical bills and food). I know that angels will be sitting on your shoulders when you decide to make your lap the spot in which I spend my golden years!
