Mars

I was named after the Roman God of war, and I take that title very seriously. I excel at puppy dog eyes, which help me win all the food and all the attention. I am a pretty tough pup; my siblings and I were found running loose, and even though I was pretty skinny when I came to TALGV, I was tough enough to overcome that adversity and quickly learn to love people and all they have to offer (especially the snacks). I’ll need some patience because I’m still a puppy, but your reward will be a loyal, loving, fun companion for the rest of our lives. The only thing I really want to conquer is your heart; mine is wide open and waiting for a family to call my own.

My name is Saturn because I have a lot in common with the planet. We’re both very unique; Saturn has big, complex rings and lots of moons. I have two different colored eyes and the biggest heart ever; they say I’m the sweetest pup. I love to give hugs and snuggle next to you (or on your lap if you’re willing). Yes, I’m a little skinny, and I probably won’t grow up to be very big because I had some health challenges when I came to TALGV. I was found running loose with my siblings and I didn’t get a good meal or medical care until I arrived here. Now I’m eating well, putting on weight, and getting healthy. I am a baby at heart, though, and I’d love to be your forever cuddle buddy.

People tend to notice my merle and white coat first because, they say, it’s unusually handsome. They often comment on my eyes—one is blue, the other brown. I enjoy the compliments, of course, but my favorite part is when we get acquainted because I’m a friendly, sweet guy who loves being with people. Some say I make them happy just by being me! The kind fellow who rescued me couldn’t keep me forever, but in our two days together he wished he could. He said my good qualities included being “a great dog, lots of love, very sweet, and sensitive.” My friends here agree! He and his siblings were staying with me in a loving foster home, preparing for life once they leave the litter, and move into their own forever homes. COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

Some cats take a relatively short time to adjust when they find themselves in new situations, but as a senior (with Vet Care Support for Life), I’m taking longer than usual. That’s because I prefer men, and there aren’t too many male volunteers in the cat wing, so this adjusting thing is taking quite a while. My dad’s health was failing, and mom could no longer care for me, so everyone hoped that I’d find a new “guy love” quickly. Mom said that I like treats, lots of water (especially with ice cubes floating in it!), and like to cuddle when I’m in the mood. The volunteers are working hard to get me over this hump in life, so please check back on my progress!
