Hi… my name is Copper,

Adopted 8-28-25

Like many other dogs, I started as a stray and needed some care before I could show my true self. I’m shy at first, but give me time and you’ll find I’m friendly, playful, and full of love. I walk politely on leash, don’t chew or counter surf, and I know basic commands like sit, down, and leave it (yep, I’m smart!). I’m crate trained, but mostly just snooze there by choice. Kids make me nervous, so I’d prefer a calm home without that energy. What I do love is other dogs—I have a wonderful doggie roommate and hope to have a new playmate in my forever home. Car rides, patio lounging, even storms? No problem. I may take a little while to warm up, but once I do, this Copper will shine brighter than Gold!

Hi… my name is Ginger,

Adopted 6-7-25

I was adopted and returned for one of the oldest, silliest reasons in the book: Being “too much puppy.” Everyone knows puppies don’t train themselves. I’ve got great human friends and an adult dog roommate who are teaching me manners, like sitting, waiting, and that leash walks are great ways to get out and explore the world. Still, I’m holding out for the real deal—a forever family that understands puppies grow up, need guidance, and love a good game of chase in the yard, followed by a snuggle on the couch. Bonus points if you’ve got another playful pup I can wrestle, nap next to, and learn from. So, if you’re looking for a best friend who will grow up by your side (and not magically train herself), I’m ready, willing, and wagging!

Hi… my name is Helena,

Adopted 5-23-25

I was named in honor of Mount Saint Helens because I’m going to be a big girl, but unlike the mountain, I’m not one to blow my top. I’m a quiet girl, probably because my sisters and I were abandoned when we were young and left on our own; we are slowly discovering that there’s a big world out there full of humans who want to love us. However, I would do best with a patient person or another dog in the house to help me learn all about these exciting opportunities. I’m a smart, gentle girl who walks well on a leash and can already sit (along with some other commands). I’m also wonderful with other dogs I’ve met and enjoy playing with them. Please come by and meet me…I’d love to give you the opportunity to spoil me!

Hi… my name is Cricket,

Adopted 5-16-25

Don’t you know you need a two-year-old Shar-Pei mix with a tender heart and eyes that still believe in kindness? Evidence of a tight collar left its mark, and so did being left behind in the desert after having puppies. When a kind man stopped his car after spotting me, I jumped right in—drawn to the cool air and safety. No puppies were found, just me… tired, but trusting. At TALGV, I finally curled up on a soft bed and slept for hours. I’ve since made several friends—puppies, dogs, humans too! It seems my name fits because when I see a dog I want to meet, I sing! I’m learning leash manners fast, and I give love even faster. I’m playful, friendly, soulful, and 100% sweet—no added calories, just unconditional love.

Hi… my name is Alex,

I’m feeling pretty lost right now. My family had to move and couldn’t take me, so I’m here—heartbroken, confused, and waiting for a second chance. I’m a big boy at 76 pounds, but I walk gently on leash and just want someone to help me feel safe again. I’m shy with new people, but if you sit quietly and speak softly, you’ll see it in my eyes: “I want to trust you—I’m just scared.” I don’t like being shut in my kennel, and I probably lived mostly outside before coming to TALGV. But deep down, I dream of being part of a real family—inside and loved, forever. Could you help me believe in “happily ever after” and show me what it means to be someone’s Prince? I’ve already got the handsome part handled.

Hi… my name is Sequoia,

Adopted 4-11-25

So everyone knows puppies are cute AND lots of work to ensure we become well-mannered dogs. Here’s what you may not know: I’ve already had a head start? First, I’m fully vetted, microchipped, and spayed. Second, I’ve been attending TALGV’s Puppy-Training Program, which includes training on how to walk on a leash and learning basic commands. Third, I’ve been getting a lot of socialization with people and other dogs. Fourth, I mean – look at me! I’m ADORABLE and will only improve with age. So, is there anything I haven’t mastered?  There is one thing: I didn’t pass the ‘cat test’. (It’s them, NOT me – LOL!). My siblings who arrived with me have all been adopted. You know what that means, right? The best puppy was saved for last! Don’t miss out on meeting me!
