Living in a happy, loving home gave me a great start in life. My former person, who sadly gave me up due to her health issues, called me “a truly wonderful dog.” Luckily for me, my new TALGV friends agree, describing me as very sweet and playful. Fetch is a favorite game of mine and I’m having fun sharing my run with another dog. I’m leash-trained, understand “sit” and “touch” (nose to hand), and was good at home when my person was gone. Now I’m learning new things, too, which is especially fun when treats are involved. I’m a young shepherd mix female, black and tan with unforgettable ears, who’s ready to give and receive lots of attention and affection. In other words, I’m going to be someone’s best friend. Nacho

Hi… my name is Nacho (aka Harrison),

What comes to mind when you hear my name… corn chips covered with melted cheese, etc. or the song, “Nacho, Nacho man?” Whoops! Should that be with an “M?” The reality is I’m a big, handsome boy who walks well on a leash, with a strong handler. I’m crate trained (when left alone), ask to go out, and know some commands. I’m not a snob, but I am cautious around people I’m not familiar with. I need to get to know someone to feel comfortable around them. Once this is accomplished, I can be very affectionate and loving. In other words… be patient! It may sound corny and cheesy, but let me say I’d love to be your “Macho Nacho” boy. Does that sound appetizing to you? Let’s go home!

Sassy

Sassy is a sweet and affectionate 6-month-old Shepherd mix female who needs a new home. She is in good health, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots. Sassy loves people and is very smart, so she should be easy to train. Since owner’s other three dogs do not get along with her, she might be best as an only dog. She comes with crate, pad, harness, and leash. There is no adoption fee for this special girl. Like all the other dogs here, my companion and I arrived at TALGV through no fault of our own. Since my buddy was a little dog, he found a new home quickly. The volunteers learned I make friends easily and quickly found me another canine roommate. Wouldn’t you know, HE got adopted, too. While I’m now bunked with my third kennel mate, I can’t help but wonder who is looking for a handsome, easy-going guy with prior experience of living in a home. I have house manners, am house trained, and walk well on a leash. I have lived with very young children. I’m neither too energetic nor a couch potato. I’m not too big or too small. As Goldilocks would proclaim, I’m “just right.” Come visit me, and see for yourself. Perhaps you’ll find I’m the puzzle piece who fits in perfectly with you and your family. See you soon!
