Hi… my name is Tyler,

Adopted 11-21-22

When my buddy Tyke and I first arrived at TALGV, polite manners and education were the last things on our minds. What a difference time, patience, and training makes! Tyke found his forever home, and I have a feeling my turn is just around the corner. At the beginning I dreaded a leash, but now it’s my favorite accessory. It means I’m either going for a walk, an outing to the park, shopping, or attending an “event” with my buddies. I’ve been told that I’m very well behaved! Since I’m a sociable boy, among my favorite activities (besides snuggling), are “playdates” with my fellow canine residents. We meet in the play yard, with a couple of “human” friends, unleashed (just us dogs), and ready for fun. I’m “just around the corner” and I’m ready to go home!

NOTE: Tyler has been social, tolerant, and playful when meeting other dogs in TALGV’s playgroup. He would like to meet any resident dogs before adoption to your home.

Hi… my name is Tyke,

Adopted 8-7-22

Tyler and I were picked up on the Tohono O’Odham reservation by the tribal police. Since there was no reason to arrest us, we were brought to TALGV. We were checked out and found to be undernourished, but healthy. Then we started our new routine, with two daily walks. I’m not crazy about the collar and leash (I’m improving), or being confined to my kennel (probably never an “inside dog”), but I heard someone mention I’m making an effort to adapt to my surroundings. Tyler and I may have come in together, but now we need our separate spaces, and I need to focus more on social interaction with “humans.” I’d love a home (fenced space), with an experienced “dog person” who has the time and patience to help me become the dog I know I can be…YOUR dog!

Hi… my name is Loki,

Adopted with bonded companion Aela 9-29-22

Military life was great, up until our family received travel orders to Alaska. I’m a friendly, gentle, and affectionate Shiba Inu mix boy, who loves to hug people. Before my arrival here, I lived with my best friend (Aela), cats, and a seven year old human. Since Aela and I can’t go with them, we’re in the market for our new  home(s). I’m house and crate trained, “sit,” and ask to go out. I may not be leash trained, but according to one of the volunteers, I’m a VERY good boy who listens well, and doesn’t pull while walking. I’m usually relaxed but I can get nervous during thunderstorms and when left alone. Since Aela and I shared our previous home and are bonded, we are adoptable together.

Hi… my name is Thelma (aka Skye),

Adopted 4-28-22

My sister Louise and I were born into a litter of nine. After seven of our siblings found homes, we were brought here to find ours. I think it’s rather nice being here! We both get lots of individual attention, which I really love. Leash training is new to me, but since I enjoy going for walks, I’m doing my best to learn. Another subject up for discussion, “potty training.” I still need that lesson! I’m ready to start my schooling and learn my doggie ABC’s (sit, stay, down, etc.). I’ve heard about “puppy training” and “socialization,” so I guess I’ve got that to look forward to! I’m already a sweet and friendly gal, but with your loving guidance there’s always room for improvement. Once in my new home, with you, I know we’ll reach our goal.

Hi… my name is Louise,

Adopted 4-28-22

My sister Thelma and I had seven other litter mates, who are now with their new families. I’m actually happy to be here because, with just the two of us, it’s rather nice to be the center of attention for a change. At 5 ½ months old, and already a “tot,” I’m more than ready for “puppy training” to help me become a well-behaved member of your family. On the subject of training, I should be learning my doggie ABC’s. You know…the basic commands. Did I mention the “leash training” that happens on my walks? It’s not that easy, but going for walks is fun…so I’ll learn! Then there’s “socialization!” Even though I’m already sweet and friendly, I can never get too much! I’m also ready to experience a loving home life.  What? Did you say OUR home?

Hi… my name is Luna,

Adopted 4-30-22

I am a Treeing Walker Coonhound, and although no longer a puppy, I still have lots of energy to run and chase. I am currently staying with foster parents who have a nice, big yard and another dog with whom I get along well. But they say that I can’t stay because I’m not at all fond of their cats and look at them as prey. (Sigh.) I am well behaved on a leash, but I am a strong girl and need a strong person to walk with me. I love being with all kinds of people, and I love learning new things. I already know the “sit,” “down” and “stay” commands. My favorite place is next to my human, giving and receiving affection. Will you be my very own human?

Hi… my name is Happy,

Adopted 6-8-22

Recently my roommate Taffy was adopted. Now it’s my turn! I’m a young male heeler mix with one major goal in life…my happily ever after in my forever home. I’m an affectionate boy who loves being in the company of people. On a recent outing I made a point of showing everyone how well I behave at social events. I know the command “sit” and walk well on a leash. I love to play and play well with my contemporaries. I won’t bore you by describing my visual appearance, but I have been told I’m one handsome hunk o’ dog! You’ll have to be the judge of that! Remember, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. How are your eyes? I’m ready to schedule an appointment for our meet and greet. Now it’s your move!

Hi… my name is Chief,

Adopted 4-30-22

I’m a proud, young (dare I say handsome) Staffie mix boy who’s going to tell you a little about myself. I’m a patient, friendly chap. My knowledge of basic commands is fairly impressive: “sit,” “wait,” “let’s go,” and “leave it,” and with your help I’d like to continue my education. I’m a “great leash walker”(according to one of my handlers). I’m easy to leash into my appointed walking gear, heel very nicely, walk comfortably on a loose leash, and don’t pull. Cars going by don’t faze me, and I was non-reactive to my noisy canine neighbors when I passed their kennels. If you liked what you read in my bio today, how would you like to add to it in our future years together? Just say YES!…and so it continues!
