Hi… my name is Oscar,

Adopted 10-10-21

When I jumped into the lady’s golf cart, all I wanted was a ride. At first she thought I was a wild animal, but once we met she invited me home. I’m an approximately 4-month-old Terrier and I’m proud of it! Would you believe there are over 30 types of Terriers? Being “feisty” and energetic are the primary traits we all share. Don’t worry, I hear we make wonderful, loyal, and lovable pets. We’re also trainable, as long as you take charge, because we can be a little stubborn (I prefer, independent). Now is the perfect time, with your patience and perseverance, for me to start kindergarten and learn the basic commands. How about some “extra curricular” training. You know what I mean… cute tricks! Are you ready to take me home?

Hi… my name is Sasha (aka Mandie),

Adopted 4-26-22

When I was first found, I was a scared 5-week-old puppy who was all alone. Now I’m a confident young gal who knows what she wants out of life. I want a loving forever home, and I want to be your “only” pet! According to my foster Mom, I’m a wonderful, affectionate companion who’s absolutely no problem in the home. I ride well in a car and enjoy playing fetch with my ball. I’m house, crate, and leash trained, ask to go out, and even know the commands “sit,” “stay,” “off” and “wait”(useful if I should start pulling on my leash). I have also improved on the “watch” command. I may sound egotistical, but I think you’ll be more than satisfied with me, and you deserve the best!

Hi… my name is Lily,

Adopted 9-22-21

You might say I took the long route getting here. First, I was found by a lady in Tucson and, somehow, I turned up at the local PetSmart. I was left there; then I spent the night at Paws Patrol. Finally I arrived at TALGV. Whew! That was quite a trip! Anyway, I’m an approximately 4-month-old, female Beagle/Chihuahua mix, (I know, that’s some mix). If I say so myself, I’m quite the cutie pie, and I’d be a real catch for anyone. Yes, I’m talking to you! Of course, you know you’d have to start out from scratch, and teach me ALL the basic commands, and probably even potty (or as they say, house) train me. You never know, I could surprise you. Please come and meet me. I would really enjoy one more trip…to our home!

Hi… my name is Roxie,

Adopted 9-8-21

I love people. Indeed, I’ve been reported to “talk” to people, (not barking, but my own verbal communication), and since I like people so much, you know my message is all good! However, I was living with four other dogs and the time came when we no longer played nicely together. Our person felt the trouble was between me and the other female dogs in the household, so I’d be happiest as your only dog. And I’m ready to love someone new! Granted, I’m sometimes shy, but always smart, too; I’ve been taught a couple of commands and I’m good on a leash. A young Doberman mix female, 64 pounds, I’ve never been around kids or cats, but I excel at being a person’s companion. Won’t you give me the chance to be yours?  (bio dated June 2017)

Leo

Hi… my name is Leo,

Adopted 11-8-21

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

My former mom is moving away and can’t take me with her. She gave me to a friend whose dog wanted nothing to do with me. At this stage of  life, I might prefer being an only dog! I’m a 12-year-old Chihuahua mix, and I’m in the market for a loving,    comfortable home where I can retire. Im even on Social Security, in the form of Vet Care Support for Life. It isnt easy to lose the home youve lived in for so long, and the family (two cats) you shared it with. Im small, so I wont eat much or take up too much room. I enjoy my naps, and its always a comfort to know that someone who cares is close at hand. Adopt me now so we can begin to enjoy the simple things in life, together!

Hi… my name is Cami,

Adopted 9-3-21

In the winter of 2018 I was found wandering alone and scared in Tubac. A patient man lured me with food and took me to TALGV. I’m a 6-year-old female Boxer who hopes to find a home with caring people and a canine buddy. I was gentle with my adopted family’s grandchildren and tried to befriend their dog. But when he just ignored me, I got depressed and stopped eating. They worried about me and brought me back. Now, in my foster home, my doggie “sister“ has taught me “down,” “crawl,” and how to use the doggie door. We love snuggling together. My foster parents say I’m skittish when hearing loud noises like slamming doors, but I’m not a barker. I’m shy at first, but ultimately I’m known as “the affectionate love bug.”

Hi… my name is Sheba,

ADOPTED 11-6-21

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

It’s that time of life when I may have a middle-age spread, a couple of aches and pains, and I might not be able to see and hear as well as I used to, but I think I’m fine the way I am. I need a new home due to my former owner’s health issues. My foster mom taught me how to use a doggie door, and the commands “sit,” “wait,” and “stop.” In fact, I taught HER how to heel, and she follows me everywhere. OOPS!…that could be the other way around. Whatever! I like to stay close! On walks I get a little snappy with other dogs, otherwise I seem fine with them. I come with Vet Care Support for Life… tempted? Once we meet in person, I think I’ll be coming home with you.

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Adopted 5-9-14, Arrived 7-15-21.

Hi… my name is Buddy,

Adopted 9-3-21

Are you looking for a friendly, lovable buddy to hang out with? Then look no further than TALGV! Howdy, I’m BUDDY and I’m an 8-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix with that comfortable, laid-back, “lived in” look. You may even think we’ve met before, and who knows…in another lifetime? I’m not reactive to other dogs, in fact I got along fine with my finder’s dog. I walk well on a leash and use the doggie door. I listen to people and try to comply with their requests, even though I might not always understand. Once I’m home, and YOUR Buddy, I’m sure we’ll communicate with each other just fine! Remember, home is not only where the heart is, it’s also where the dog is. With that in mind, why don’t you take your new Buddy home!

Hi… my name is Jake,

Adopted 9-19-21

My being found isn’t a mystery, but what happened to my missing eye definitely is! Whatever happened hasn’t taken away my positive outlook on life. I may seem shy at first, but watch out…here comes the wagging tail followed by many kisses. I LOVE people!! I’m definitely a good candidate for training and even though I walk quite well, my desire to be close to my handler is probably the reason why. A vehicle ride puzzled me and after assistance getting in, I found a secure, safe place to stay until we arrived at the park. There I was excited by all the sights and smells, and when meeting two other dogs (one large, one small), I was curious but I didn’t react. Now is the time for you to react! PLEASE TAKE ME HOME!
