Staying in a foster home is like a vacation! I miss my friends at the shelter, but I’m really enjoying the change. I need exercise, and I’ve always enjoyed my walks, but now I get L-O-N-G walks. I’m house trained, use a doggie door, love car rides, playing fetch and a good cuddle. I know the commands “sit,” “shake,”“down,” and “fetch,” and now “stay.” Then there’s “LEAVE IT.” I may be treat motivated, but with all of nature’s living creatures tempting me, that’s a hard one to obey. I should also tell you, cats are a no-no, but dogs may be okay. I’m still young and need a strong, confident person in my life to get me through the awkward stages. Home life can be good, but home life with you would be perfect.

After ten years, and at an age when change doesn’t come easy, my family grew to include two young children, and one of them wanted to hug me all the time. I may seem grouchy, but I’m not used to so much attention and I really need my own space. I’m leash trained and I ask to go out. I’ll follow a person around and I’m protective, playful and enjoy playing with a ball, but I don’t have as much energy as I used to. I haven’t had any “formal” obedience training but I’m pretty easy-going or as someone described me: “mellow.” I’m here, with paws extended, asking you to please consider offering me a quiet, pleasant home in which to spend my golden years. I also come with Vet Care Support for Life. Together we can enjoy each other’s company!

I’m making a return appearance at TALGV due to a change in family dynamics. I’m still handsome, intelligent, and energetic, and walk well on a leash. I need a secure yard with room to run and play, and my breed also needs a “job” or purpose. That said, I really love the game “fetch” and playing with toys. I will even drop them at your feet to include you in my playtime. I’m sociable and have gotten along with both children and other dogs. I’ve been sleeping in a crate at night but being confined in one, in a moving vehicle, makes me nauseous. I understand the commands “sit,” “down,” and “wait.” These also work well if I get excited and when food is involved. Please make an appointment to meet me. Bring the whole family!

I believe everyone needs the love of a dog to complete a home. Since I’m ready, willing, and able you might want to consider getting to know ME. I’m a young Hound mix boy who’s full of life and understands the commands “sit,” “wait,” “off,” “leave it,” “place,” “let’s go,” and “free.” Even though I occasionally need reminders to pay attention, I walk well on a leash. I enjoy car rides, but I shouldn’t roam free. I’m somewhat curious about other dogs. I’ve enjoyed “pack” walks and supervised buddy playtime without incident. I’m also young and rambunctious and need a strong handler. I want and need that special kind of love that’s mixed with “discipline and structure.” With love like that…how can we fail!

NOTE: Norman has been social, tolerant, and playful when meeting other dogs in TALGV’s playgroup. He would like to meet any resident dogs before adoption to your home.

After two months with my foster mom, she wants you to know that I’m a well-mannered, handsome, sweet and gentle boy. I’m also a fast learner who knows the basic commands. I’m crate trained, love being active, and thoroughly enjoy going for walks, wearing my harness. On several occasions I reacted when passing another dog, and I appeared “curious” about cats, from a distance. Even though I’ve progressed in so many ways, I still have fears to overcome. I’m timid around “some” people, situations, or things. I appreciate being praised and enjoy hugs.
